Up date, took the oil pan off and looks like the # 3 pin failed. We have not take it to get torn down yet. What I found interesting was I took a sample of some of the crap that was on the screen of the pick up tube and had it analyzed here in my plant. There is a process where they put a chemical on the sample that strip away the oils and grease. What was left over was red shop rag, white shop rag, aluminum shavings, and cast iron shavings.

We are taking it tomorrow to be torn down. I waited another day cuz I'm waiting for info from our oil pump vendor.

Sounds like someone left a shop rag in your engine? If so, Sorry to hear your bad luck. I'm sure your shop will take care of you though and it didn't fail while going down the 1320!!
Best of luck with the new engine!! And good job identifying a major problem before the carnage!!

Thank's Bryan, I am hoping that they won't give me any chit tomorrow. They have aways treated me good and we respect each other. The only fear I have is I may need a new crank, new bearing, a completet dissasembly to clean every thing, new head gaskets, oil pump, and let's not forget re-installation.

Peace,

Suavy

I have never done it but if I was going to I would pump trans fluid via an exteran pump. Then just catch what comes out the other side and see what comes out. I would not use air for fear of making foam in it.

Have you tried to e-mail Gregg Evans? Go to the supporting vedore section and e-mail him.

Greg did tell me when I changed to mobil 1 synt. to make sure to drain the torque converter and let the tranny dripp for a while if you are going to change to a synt oil when you fill it back up.

Also you can go to Ford service and get a tranny line filter I got one from Greg when he built my Monster Box.
If you need further help feel free to drop me an e-mail

Peace,

Suavy

I would think that it would. However, like I said I have never done it before.

Damn Suavy - I'm sorry to hear that.

And sorry to you to Tim - when you're mentioned in a post like this, with a tone like that, it seems that your offline talents are needed, which is not good (for Suavy)

Best of Luck,
Herb

Up date, engine spun every bearing, scuffed the pistons and smoked the rings. The crank is strashed, 6 of the manley H-beams are discolored and not recommended for reuse. Not to mention my heads and cams, titanium springs and retainers.

Peace, Suavy

damn Suavy...

Tim will hook you up!

I wouldn't say too much about the engine until you have rectified the situation. Ya never know who's listening.
