Suavy,

Have a safe trip, and forget about the truck and spend some quality time with your family.

Shoot me an E-mail when you get back, I have next week off.

I'll be here in my garage pulling my motor Mark?

My daughter is due on the 9th so it's any day but I plan at least on pulling the motor before I go.

PS. I found that other mid pipe for you so when ever you want it.

The reason I went back to the stock pickup with the big pump is because I didn't like the way the Cobra pickup fit. The pickup sits too far forward and too high up from the bottom of the pan and isn't good for drag racing IMHO.

Also...not sure if the Cobra pump would have that kind of an effect on your engine....causing an oil spray....the pump gears are only about 1mm wider than a 2V pump and was made that way to feed extra oil to the 4V heads, its not that much bigger than stock. Again my .02

Up date got the engine 1/2 way out just need to disconect the exhaust, unbolt the pwr steering pump, air compressor, and then seperate the tranny.

Engine machine shop on stand by to get it tore down. We did rule out the oil coller assy. There is a tab on the bottom of the abapter for oil filter cooler; that won't let it locate with out proper pos. Even so it has a distribution rin that allows oil to flow arond that area.
I was concerned cuz I used a coller from a 2001 truck instead of my old 2000.

Thank you every one for your input!

Peace,

Suavy

If you are using a stock pick upon a hi vol pump, my gues is you are sucking air into pump and that could be your problem.

Bob, I used a stock pump ever since I started racing my L. However, last year I went with a HO pump but it used to send oil droplets all over my engine at WOT. This year we went back to the stock type pump. I changed it out again last week still had the same problem. I made dbl. sure the O-ring was on right!

Stock pump with stock pick up tube and O-ring.

Thanks for your input.

Peace,

Suavy

Up date,

Got the motor out pulled the pan there was metal shavings on the pick up tube screen.
We were able to get it to turn with some force, to get the torque converter bolts off.

The motor gose back to the builder tomorrow morning to find out whats what.

Pray for me!

Chris, I do need your help? How can I prove that they may have not installed a bearing right? Or let's clearance. I know that he had to order a special set of bearings for it?

The heads apear to have oil puddles up top but I want the cam caps removed to look for gaulding.

Any tips you could give or definet things to look for?
