You will also need a Ford adaptor plate which holds the battery in place. I got mine at Batteries Plus.
Another note on Optima batteries -
Sam's Wholesale Club (at least in Houston) carries the red top for around $99.
I think that they also carry yellow and blue, but I always use the red tops (standard car battery now, but was the only Optima for years - I have one that is 10 years old that would still be working if I had not used it to repeatedly start a car with a dead alternator...

gauge
before turning on your key.. hold down the odometer/tripometer button. While holding, turn the key to "on" (dont start the car).. hold for about 3-4 seconds and you will see "TEST" pop up on the odometer screen and release as soon as you see it.. I beleive it will run the gauge through a complete sweep test.. there's a couple other options in there but i cant remember which ones..
