Anyone that has had Engine Blow while under warranty!

Just curious what results were. I'm installing a KB and will have a programmer. But for now I have 170stat, heat exchanger, e-fans, and a bassani. But after the KB install if I do end up blowing the motor can and will my warranty replace the motor if a chip has never been installed, the tuning is set back to stock, and I remove the KB? thanx

So...what your saying here is, you want to risk the motor in your truck at Fords expense??? Nice.

I just can't imagine why Ford would see the Lightning as a money looser.

it's a gamble.. but if you play you have to pay.

Don't cry if they don't cover it!
you won't get any sympathy from here.

Most likely your warranty will NOT cover you if you blow your motor with an aftermarket blower on it because in the warranty manual it states:

Not covered by warranty:

– ALTERING or MODIFYING the vehicle – including the body, chassis or COMPONETS after the vehicle leaves Ford’s control.”
There’s other things stated under “not covered” but that’s the important one you need to know.

IF you can afford a KB then perhaps you should be able to afford a built engine.

Stock = warrenty

Mod the ***** out of it = SOL (as it should be)

don't get us wrong, we aren't b!tching at you.

It's just been discussed 100 times before and then people complain that Ford didn't replace their engine after a 500hp shot of nitrous.

The thing is that I bought my L used and it has a 6yr/75,000 mile extended warranty and only 21,000 miles on it. i don't want to wait another 54,000 miles or 2 years to mod my truck. Gosh this sucks! But thanks!

I've got the same warranty, which is pretty much be useless to me for my engine. If I toss a rod I'll pony up and replace it from my own pocket. On the other hand, if my AC compressor goes out, or I have something like that happen, I will get them to warranty that.

Cancel the extended warranty. You won't have to worry about commiting fraud that way.

Yeah, what he said. Extended warrantys can be cancelled and unused portion sent back to you in cash (unless it's financed then the money goes to the finance company to pay down the loan).

Once the warrantys cancelled, mod the he!! out of it.

Perhaps the grip is a bit too tight, or something.
