Whipple 2.3 Dyno results

This thing should be awesome with a tune here are the results:

100% stock truck
No race Fuel
No PCM reflash/chip/programmer
Stock MAF
Stock Air Box
Stock lower

Stock truck made 351HP at the tire

Threw the 2.3 on with a 3 inch upper and stock 7.5' lower:

AVERAGE of 416HP 466TQ at the tire while seeing 13PSI on the gauge

Then the boost was bumped up. Still 100% stock, no race fuel, no reflash, etc

9 inch lower
3inch upper supercharger pulley

510HP @ 4900RPM's
610TQ @ 3600RPM's

EVERYTHING was maxxed out. Fuel was maxxed out, injectors were maxxed out, MAF was maxxed out thus the power started to fall at the upper RPM's.

All this with the Boost at 21PSI and on stock pcm tune!!!!!!

Also origionally the kit was going to come with a throttle body. To keep the kit cost effective it will not come with a throttle body. They are currently redesigning the intake plenum to accept the stock throttle body setup.

Just thought i would let everyone know

Will

Looks like this maybe the way to go. Still would like to see a truck put some miles on one and some track time. Stock block and built so we can see the potential and reliability.

Looks promising from the start though.

Whipple is currently working with Ford Racing with pricing. the 2300 will be in the $3200 range and the 3300 in the $3900 range. But this was before i was told the Throttle body does not come with the unit so it might go down.

For stock block safety's sake, let's say a guy wants to stay at 13-14psi. You say the average #s are 416/466 at that boost level. Do you have the peak #s (and at what rpm they occur) for this run?

I'm just curious. I'm ~12-13psi as well with a stock Eaton... and only making 393rwhp (but 482rwtq). I do have an airbox and a 4lb pulley, but those things just help me get up to 12-13psi. Those don't help my truck make any more power at a given boost level. Add an airbox to the Whipple, and it may be over 15psi... that's great, but it's not an apples to apples comparison.

I'm interested in power made at a given boost for one vs. power made at the same boost level for the other.

Nevertheless, it's obvious the Whipple 2.3 is more efficient than an Eaton at the _same_ boost level. But I'd really like to know the peak #s for the runs made at 13psi if you have them.

You say they are going to redesign the intake to use the stock throttle body. Will they have an option to purchase the setup in the picture, with their throttle body? Thanks.

MM&FF June 2002 issue, KB testing everything stock 3" upper 7.5 stock lower 13psi, It made 403rwhp. With the 9" lower and 2.75 upper, accufab tb, 20.6psi, 511 rwhp. With the 2.57 upper accufab, 21.6psi , 522rwhp 600lbs-ft tq. This was back then, Im sure theres have been some changes to the KB since then. Im not so impressed with the Whipple.

Was that on the Stock tune. I thought it was dynotuned to those numbers.

These numbers indicate a STOCK truck with NO tuning.

Whipple is a better made product regardless, so if it's the same money or less, then why would you even consider the KB, even if the HP numbers were only comparable.
