I agree with the Clay Bar. Whenever removing contaminants from a car, always go with the least agressive first and slowly work up the ladder. Another thing to keep in mind is the composition of the contaminant. Solvents are made to remove oil based contaminants and should only be used when that's involved. If it's just dried on grass clippings and mulch, a heavy duty soap wash should get the majority off and then the clay bar should remove any remaining. Be sure to follow up with a good polish and then wax.

try lighter fluid and a cotton rag like you'd use to light your charcoal grill. No joke, it works great. Got lots of tar off my truck this past summer, just wash and re-wax a couple of times after you use it.
