How can I get this crap off my white L???

I left the my '99 in a parking space next to a curb w/ mulch and bushes.

It rained really heavy overnight and it looked like the heavy rain spashed/splattered multch-crap all over the drivers side from the door back. I did not see it for a few days, so it dried somewhat.

It looked like it washed off easily enough, but its speckled with light brown spots everywhere. It's hard to see, but when I wash the truck, I can feel the bumps, its rough.

I tried bug/tar removers but this stuff wont budge.

Any ideas?

I would first try WD-40 which won't harm the paint and then use a claybar with the proper lubricant.

Go into your local napa and ask for "prep solvent". It's what I used for years and works awsome for tar, sap, ect...

Light application of laquer thinner will work. I've used it before, and it's the active ingredient in most bug/tar removers.

Get this. This clay bar really works like they say. I had tree sap on my truck which i could only feel by hand and I use the clay and the dorr was smooth as a babys bottom. I use it everytime I wax my truck

I would be very, very careful in using laquer thinner. It is a very agressive solvent and can soften the clear coat. Enamel reducer is less aggressive, prep-sol (a naptha base) is your best bet.

Have you tried a cleaner wax? They are lightly abrasive and should get it off with no problem.

How about a cleaner wax.

Or a small amount of compound on a rag.

Jesus, WD40, claybar....come on guys, think simple.

A claybar is less harsh than a cleaner wax. That's why I suggested trying it 1st.

You guys are so dramatic. WD-40 will not and does not harm the paint. I am not suggesting you do the whole truck, just those little areas.

WD-40 will take off marks that the claybay can't, but since I don't have a garage queen..........
