i have run the nitto drs on my 99. i was nothing but impressed. they did seem to spin a little in cold temps, but you could control it. as for "easing" into it. beleive me i did. maybe you guys that have said its just the gtII's that suck are right. i did go to the track and got a 1.93 60ft(made only one pass.. rained out), but im more worried about something embarassing me on the street. on the street my 99 with the EXACT same mods WOULD NOT spin. i could stomp it in the warm weather, and ease it down in the cold, it always hooked. Now. i have a trade offer im trying to work out right now, with a guy with 02 stock wheels and nittos. if this goes through, i will go ls1 hunting as soon as they arrive. hell a honda civic can out run me now from 0-30.

12leavu - this is kinda related to your post as I'm the opposite and have plenty of traction

Was it hard making the lower blower pully? My bro-law just bought a lathe so you gave me an idea on how to fix my problem.

i guess its easy as long as you know what your doing. i had a sample to get all my dimensions from. also, it will have to be a pretty "healthy" lathe, atleast large enough to swing the chunk of aluminum. i personally have a small lathe, thats good for making upper pulleys, but i have to use the machines at work to do anything major. good luck with your project, email me if you need any more info.

ITS ALL ABOUT PRACTICING UR LAUNCH.....
I USE TO HAVE 23" OZ'S ON MY TRUCK AND I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THEM....I HAD ALOT LESS SIDE WALL N MY PIRELLIS WERE HARD AS HELL... U HAVE TO LEAVE OFF IDLE N GET THE TRUCK MOVING N THEN WACK IT..

DONT GET ME WRONG A 18" DRAG RADIAL WILL HOOK ALOT BETTER BUT U CAN MAKE THE 20'S WORK PRETTY DAMN GOOD.

I USE TO STREET RACE MY TRUCK AFTER SELLING THE 23'S ON THE FACTORYS ALL THE TIME LAST WINTER WIT F-1S

I MADE THE SAME POWER U DID AND HAD NO PROBLEMS. I HAD ABOUT 15 RACES IN A ROW...DIDNT LOSE ANY.

MY FAV. ONE WAS AN LS1 CAMARO...KID DIDNT TAKE LOSING TO A PICK UP LIGHTLY

Hey don't feel too bad... the same thing happened to me just last night. I raced against BMW 645, which should have been a walk in the park for my truck, but I am still getting used to my 1-week old set up. My 20" Dunlop SP9000 tires don't quite hook up as F1s used to... I hit the gas a little too hard and span out enough for him to gain 2 cars on me... I would have passed him, but the next light wasn't far away... oh well... u win some u loose some... and so it goes...!

12leavu,
How heavy are your 20s?? I had a set of used blinged out TSW 20s that were almost twice as heavy as my stock wheels. Then I bought my current wheels, 20" Enkei's, (no chrome, just tasteful looking) which didn't feel much heavier than the stock wheels. The weight of your wheels, I'm assuming they're pretty heavy, is probably 1/2 of your problem along with the other 1/2 being the compound of your tires. On the Enkei's, I initially had a set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero's, sized at 295/45/20 and ran pretty consistent 1.9 60 foots at the track. The Pirelli's are Z rated, as opposed to my current 20" Toyo Proxes which are V rated, the Toyo's are tires that everybody says are awful tires but in my opinion are just as good as my Z rated Pirelli's were. Also, another Z rated 20" tire mentioned in another reply are the Goodyear HP's.

My .02!!

he knew the facts ...you provided them

1. it was wet
2. you raced
3. your comprehension of 12leavu thread about "limited traction" required you to have him take deep breaths calm down explain it clearly to you ...."cause its all about you"
4. you get upset easily ...your feelings are hurt and you "act out" by quickly resorting to name calling
5. you think SVT F15O reply was stupid
6. you can hold your own
7. you want to quote:"get it started BIIIAAAATCHHHHHHHHHH"
