Angry just got beat, wheels are definelty gone.

i just got it handed to me by a ls1 z28.(pretty sure stock). well i was spinning sideways until about 30, and finally let out of it. even then he was only about half a car ahead. anyways we got up to about 45, and then he wouldnt race.....then at the next light i ease into, and he smokes me again. this is my first loss to a ls1, including vettes. next time i get beat by one, i won't blame it on spinning tires, because these 20's will be gone. i'm 100% sure going back to stock wheels and nitto drags.

Ok calm down...Take 10 deep breaths and say "LS1s are a good opponent".

Now that that is done tell the story again because I did not understand a phucking thing you said other than I got beat.

i got beat because of these hard azz goodyear gtII's on these 20 INCH WHEELS.

an ls1 may be a good oppenent, but not for a 430rwhp lightning with some drag radials. i've done smoked to many, besides this one was stock.

I ran 18" nittos drag radials on my black 99 lightning....it did not spin.

i am getting rid of these 20" wheels and tires to get a set of 18's so i can run nitto drs.

the z28 was staying ahead of me because i was spinning.

if i didn't have these wheels and tires i would of won.

the wheels and tires where on this truck when i bought it, so i figured i'd give them a chance. ( that was the last chance)

next time i race one i will have drag radials.

I agree your tires suck!

430 HP does not guarantee a victory against some cars because of wet roads, etc...

I do understand your happenstance. Tires win races is a good quote for this instance. I made a mistake in running an LS1 with wet conditions and thus could not get traction. Lesson learned. This particular LS1 owner respects the fact that if I HOOK, he is toast.

I've only had my Lightning for a couple weeks but I ran a LS1 Trans Am(complete with all the Jegs stickers)and flat out embarrassed him. Thanks for the info,I'll never put 20's on my L.

i agree those GTII suck but you could try a better tire on the 20's and you would get more traction. not as good as the nittos but better.

Wes dont you remember my Victory and defeat story a couple of yrs back. I was on my way to buy Slicks and Bars from a PSP customer Sal hooked me up with. It was in the 20's that night, I ran into a ls1 and pulled up next to him, we slowed it down and raced from a 30-40 MPH roll to well over a hundred "a good 3 to 4 times" and I absolutely dusted him each and every time,
I think it was my first street race in the L too, WOO HOO.
Over and over I walked away BIG TIME, BUT then we hit a Red Light

SOB did one of those Chip waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa deals,
and pulled away. I sat there absolutely roasting the tires off the rim, I got off it, back on it, off it, back on it, off and on, and all it would do is absolutely roast the tires. It was then I realized he was about an 1/8 of a mile away, and I was maybe 30 ft from where I started,
I actually laughed my *** off and simply idled away realizing a running vinnie can beat a L off the Line under those conditions

It's good to lose once in a while, IT MAKES YOU FASTER ; o )

I get pretty good traction with my 20's. For tires I run Goodyear Eagle HP Plus and I can usually get them to hook. I've pulled 1.9 60fts with them which is pretty good I think. Off the line it's all about easing into it. Of course it's easier said then done some times

I was thinkin that I would pick up some Nitto's for my next set of tires. I need to use them all year around (I hate rain) so i was wondering if i should get the DR's or just the regular 555's. And what is your guys opinion on the nitto 555 (not the DR's) vs. the F1's. From my understanding they are cheaper, hook better, and protect the wheel better.
Any opinions would be great.
