fatal L accident in Houston

http://www.click2houston.com/news/3932392/detail.html

Guess this happened yesterday, I just wonder what some of these people are thinking out there, driving that fast running from the police is just crazy. You'd think he was trying to take himself out. Very sad to go that way. Sure hope it was no one from this board.

Why was he being chased? If he was driving that fast when

police lost him the first time then why would they chase him

again?

That stupid off duty cop had his plate right? when why

pursue?????????

This is not one of those things you can blame on somebody else.

Contrary to what you learned being raised by the day care system, adults have to learn to take responsibility for their own actions.

That being said.....my prayers go out to the young mans family.

The consensus is that it may be a NASCAR F-150. Check out this thread at NLOC:

Yeah, my reputation proceeds me. See a potential law evasion with a crash in the news involving a Lightning, and everybody in Texas is checking me for a pulse.

Trust me, a punk-a$$ cop isn't going to make me lose my cool and crash.

day care system? ok Junior

I didn't say it wasn't the guys fault. Just saying what the LAW is

around here

17.05.02 POLICY

Vehicular pursuit of fleeing suspects presents a danger to the lives of the public, officers and suspects involved in the pursuit. It is the policy of this Division to protect all persons' lives to the extent possible when enforcing the law. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Division to assist members in the safe performance of their duties. To effect these obligations, it shall be the policy of the Division to strictly regulate the manner in which vehicular pursuit is undertaken and performed.

Members are authorized to pursue suspects who are reasonably thought to be violent and pose a danger to the public at large. Therefore, members may pursue a suspect only if the member reasonably believes the suspect has committed or attempted to commit a crime of violence. ALL OTHER PURSUITS ARE PROHIBITED.

First off, may God Bless him and his family and I am sorry to hear about his demise. Even though he ultilmately made the decision to continue running from the police, I think that the off duty cop who called him in will have quite a few sleepless nights. He must feel at least a little responsibility for the driver's death. I am not saying that it is completely the cop's fault for him dying but had he not called, and just gotten a tag number or even physically taken him down until on duty cops arrived, the driver would probably still be alive. In the end though, it's the driver's own fault he died. But it just goes to show you how some cops are stupid off duty also. All he needed to do was get a tag number and catch the guy at home. Once again, God bless.

I too am sorry that the guy had to die but to all the Hillary Clintons of the world who think that everything is societys fault and that no one is really responsible for their own actions, this is why George Bush is President again.

He has only himself to blame and the people who think differently must be criminals themselves.

Well, I have mixed feelings about this situation. First off, I support our local police(What/Who does that statement remind you older guys of?) but I lost my best friend due to a high-speed chase.

A teenage couple stole a car/truck(?) several years ago in a nearby town. The county sheriff's deputies caught up with them and started their pursuit. It went on for miles, ending up on a two-lane highway near Ft. Valley, GA. The driver of the stolen vehicle slammed head-on into the innocent, oncoming pickup truck driven by my friend. He was killed because of the high-speed chase and the utter stupidity of the thief. That thief/killer is in prison for the rest of his life but my friend left a family of five girls and his wife.

Not without some kind of mods. The NASCAR edition is some stickers, wheels, and I think the seats have some embroidery on them other then that the motor is a stock 5.4.

The truck in that picture has a flareside bed on it and the NASCAR trucks do NOT have a flareside bed but the fleetside or what ever you call the straight side beds.
