Agreed!

OK, based on the new lightning being late and now another
one gone, seems the value of all of our trucks is going up,
right? I think everyone should go out and run 140 mph
everyday, while I sit at home and only drive that fast on a track.

What ever... you people who say don't chase and then blame the cops need to get a life... IT IS THE SUSPECT THAT CAUSES ALL ACCIDENTS IN CHASES... If he pulls over, there is no chase.... DO YOU GET THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sure is and unfortunatlly we will hear stories like this again and again.

I hate to generalize but the youth of america think they are imortal and it will never happen to them. At the end of every school year the news is filled with stories of young people getting killed in car accedents.

It's like I'm talking to a brick wall.

If there is no commision of a felony then the "cops" are breaking the law by persuit.

no kidding there is no chase if the guy pulls over
how long did you have to think about that one to figure it out?
I'm betting 10 minutes

btw - I used to be a "cop"

I think it still comes back to the issue of who's breaking the law and who's doing their job. The peace officer is trying to do his, the other guy?? who knows?? I personally always pull over and put my hands on the wheel until the officer's at my door. I don't give them any sh.t, they have a very hard job why?? make it worse! Nobody made him drive 140 mph on public roads, he decided that, so he deserves the Darwin award. He had plenty of time to resolve his problems!
Just my opinion.(and yes they are like a-holes, everybodies got one!)
Bryan

I'm not arguing with you at all

The guy is totally at fault by running.

The only thing I am saying is if you are a LEO you can't chase someone just because they run from you.

Nobody deserves to die, though and I feel for this kid, even if he was an idiot. I am just thankful he didn't hurt anyone else.

The LEO probably didn't have the luxury of having the most update info. (Hind sight is 20/20)
Thank God, he(driver) only took himself out.
I'm not arguing, just debating.
Sincerely,
Bryan

I must've been misunderstood. And I can't blame any of you for misunderstanding me because it looked as if I supported the guy in the Lightning and was against the cops. But those of you who read carefully would have seen the part where I said, "In the end though, it is the driver's own fault he died". At the time, I was just putting myself in his situation. I wouldn't have wanted a cop to call me in but I wouldn't have run neither. I just feel that the cop who supposedly saw the driver of the L at a gas station shoulda/coulda taken his *** down. This way the moron woulda lived and no other innocent people would have been at risk of getting hit by him. Imagine if it was a family in a minivan and not a big rig. I'm am not one of your everyday bleeding heart liberals. I voted for W and I think everyone should be resposible for their own actions. Sorry if I made it seem different.

I agree with you most dont even read the post they respond too and I dont blame them either ..... like you said, the guy running was probably influenced by the fact that the police wouldnt stop chasing him and are responsible for the accident.
I suspect that in the next few years accidents will be a thing of the past as society gives their moral opinions, discusses, adds their self-righteous 2 cents, understands and learns from the root causes of accidents. I can see the difference from drivers from the 50' through the 90's too today, people make much better decisions now.
