Anybody swapped a Lightning motor into a 4WD F150?

Anybody swapped a Lightning motor into a 4WD F150? Im planning on using a 5.4 liter based truck just wanted to see if anybody has done this before. Im assuming the wiring harness for a normal 5.4 liter is the same as the Lightning motor.

I work at a performance shop so I have access to lifts and really experienced guys to help me out. I need this truck for year round so thats why I want 4WD, rear wheel drive is no fun in the snow. Im not looking for a super fast truck just something that I can get to do low 12s. I already have a race car thats what my Z28 is for.

There is a guy that lives about 60 miles from me that has done this. Its in a 4wd ext. cab with a lift I have only seen it once and didnt know that it had that done to it until he left. He owns a Dyno shop, but I never see him there.

I did it I did it!!!!! anyway yes i installed a 2004 Lightning motor and blower assembly into my 2001 4x4 screw:

Check the supercharger forum as there are a couple other guys that have done this also.
You are going to want to talk to Mike Dunn at Madenterprise.com he has everything you need for the swap.
you can email me brahmus_2000 at yahoo.com for any questions check out my gallery for some pics also.

this could go on for ever but atleast call mike or email me and i can steer you in the right direction and outline what i did!

A few lightning motor questions. Does it have forged rods and pistons? What gives it its lower compression, larger combustion chambers or lower compression pistons as compared to a normal 5.4 liter motor?

It does not have forged rods and pistons. I also believe it has lower compression pistons...8:5:1 I think.

not to be **** but i think it is 8.4:1 but all in all it is lower compression pistons, I have been told but have no evidence that the heads and cams are identical. Hard to beleive but just passing on what i have heard and maybe someone can correct me. The rods seem to be the weak point on these motors about 550 rwhp or so from what i have learn from reading hundreds of posts. Now some people are running more with no problems and some less and blowing motors i guess it is all how you drive it!
