Shipped off my last part and the dealer finally called me.

Well I shipped off the last of my lightning parts that I sold this morning.

I check my email and PSP emailed me that my truck is running smooth as silk and pulling hard.
I get to work and after 3 weeks of the dealer giving me the run around about noone calling him back on locating a car they find one, able to give me the VIN number, and said I should have it on Tuesday. So this will be my last weekend with the L. I am picking it up Saturday morning and plan on spending the better part of the day wipping back and forth on the Ocean parkway

I think I am going to cry on Tuesday.

Now that it's good, Why would you deal with the dealer, sounds like they ****ed you around enough, and there is nothing finalized on the car.

My question is are you going after the dealer to pay PSP for fixing your truck? I would make damn sure I was compensated for their stupidity.

I don't think the Audi dealer was screwing with me. I think they were being semi honest in their efforts (i think that is the most you can ask from any car dealer). I did some research on some S4 forums and everybody is going through the same thing. The first shipments of 05 I think just arrived last week. So everyone is scrambling to fill pre orders like mine.

Going to give it a shot. If it does not work I don't really care. Sal hooks it up and I will be giving the truck in perfect condition to whoever will buy the truck and might come to this board.

It was stand up of you to go out of your way and make sure the next owner of the truck gets it in perfect shape!

Noas as for the dealer. Go get them.

Any advice on how to attack that is appreciated.

I'd like to give a big thumbs up to Tom for his ethics in this matter. Most people would have just said screw it, and handed the keys to the dealer for trade in after going through all these problems with their truck. It was very important to Tom to make sure the truck was fixed, so that he wasn't passing his problems onto a new Lightning owner. A very noble thing to do in my book.

Tom gets the covented PSP two thumbs up and a beer.

Pass side timing chain was one tooth off and drivers side was two teeth off.

It's nice to know that there are still people out there that step up and do the right thing.
I applaud your efforts and ethics halflife.

Sal, Thanks for the kind words.

The truck had an obvious misfire. I did a compression test and it was ok. I had the local ford dealer(not the one that replaced the motor) check the injectors: they did a relative flow test and the injectors were fine, i swapped out 2 coil pacs and moved them all around with no luck. Sal then check the voltage on the injectors and they were fine. He started to unplug the coil pacs one at a time and there was no change in idle when he unpluged any of the drivers side and the passenger side the idle did drop. I worked for 2 days about 8 hours a day trying to figure it out with no luck. Sal took all of 10 minutes and then he said it is probably the timing chain is off one tooth.(BTW he stayed until 9:30pm at his shop so he could take a look at it for me after I left work ) This just proves that Sal is the Man when it comes to knowing our trucks. No need for a 2nd opinion after you visit Dr. PSP.

Now I am going to pick up the truck and be crying like a little girl when i trade it in on Tuesday for the S4.

Man Tom, it just sucks that something like this forced you to the point of no return. Even if your driving the enemy you better still drop by and say whats up every now and then.
