Looks nice

How much adjustment in the idler??

I would perfer it to be about 1/4 inch further to the passenger side of the truck. That way the belt would have a little more clearance.

1-menace,

Mine is on the other side so it is not a copy of mine.

I did speak to Charles when I designed mine and did show it to him. Charles did inform me that he was designing his own. He also explained the advantages of where he positioned it.

But mine is polished

Suavy,
What are the advantages of positioning it that way?

I have a new idler cross brace coming out in the next few weeks that fixes the problem in style.

Yours is good but the pulley is on the tension side thereby applying a lot of load to the idler bearing. Mine is on the slack side (idler take-up side) where loads are light.

Hope this helps,

Suavy

i would think you'd want to hold the pulley closer where the most force is being applied to it. the whole purpose is to have more belt contact, not to get another 1000 miles out of your bearings

I think that the point is to hold the belt down on the side where there is the least amount of force being applied. Belts "ride up" off of the pulley on the slack side, not the tension side.

So there is 1" of travel in the pulley adjustment, but you don't know the added pressure?
