Oh my Boost--stock apten

Well first time I got into boost since I installed the apten blower. Still on a stock pulley and only have a jlp intake on.

This truck just jumped into boost and I watched the stock boost gauge go right past 10 and kept on going all the way until it was parallel with the floor.

not sure how much boost. I am going to install the boost gauge tonight hopefully and will report back how much boost.

This thing is just awesome with the port. I am thinking of leaving my 4lb off until the spring and just leave it stock pulley

With a 4# and some cold air it gets real fun.

Yeah I know. I am still kinda breaking in the new motor. I have been without a truck since April so just adding the air intake was fun. I think I am going to take it slow and just add performance parts as I get bored.

What am I talking about, I am sure I will have the 4lber on by next week and a dyno tune.

I am just very impress with how the port feels on a stock pulley.

When I put mine on it was 38 degrees out. I gave it a few easy drives to make sure everything was seated and had a chance to thermocycle a few times.

Third time out I went WOT and about crapped my pants. The auto meter swung to 17psi and the F1s were just increasingly spinning. somewhere around 4500 rpms I had to stop looking at the boost guage and focus on steering!

I can't wait to run at the track on a day like that..

Parallel to the floor? I must be missing something. Do you mean Perpendicular to the floor? If its parallel to the floor then your boost gauge is broken or someone put a 15 # pulley on and you are running like 25 psi of boost

Or I am just missing some thing :o

What is the increase in boost with the Apten on a stock truck?

Anyone with a good gauge measure it?

tHE STOCK gauge just went way past the 10lb mark, Say if the 10lb mark is at 12 oclock then the needle went all the way to 9 oclock.
I am going to install my auotmeter gauge and get an accurate boost reading before I can any pulleys and will let you all know what it was reading.

halflife,

What chip/tuning are you running...if any?

I'm going to be doing an Apten install soon, and just have a 2# lower on mine. I figure I'll keep it like that for awhile.

Just curious. Does the Apten alter the A/F ratio?

I'm also curious to know what the Apten will do to the A/F ratio.

it leans it out a little...
if you are near 11.8-12;0 I would definitely have it checked out just to make sure
