Question Mph & Et ?

The track that I go to is not that good at all. My truck did not run but 8.5's but it ran 86 MPH. I think that is high for that ET. I have not ran a car at the track in about 4 years. It was alot faster then a 8.50 it ran 4.50's. It takes time to learn how to slow down. I just need a opinion from the gods of the Lighting world.

86.37mph netted me 8.285 in the 1/8th and 12.905 in the 1/4 mile and that's in mid 80 degree temps. So I think with your MPH your in the 12's in the quarter mile or dang close.

Ya man the MPH is def there, but your off on the 1/8 mile ET ?
You must have spun off the line or slowly sqeezed into it ??
Either way that MPH is def good for an easy 12 sec pass

CONGRATS

The best e.t i have gotten was a 7.97 at 86.04mph with a 1.72 sixty foot.I am guessing your sixty was in the 2.0 range, and that's why you e.t. was so high.

Unfortunatly it's dam near impossible to actually know what it
COULD HAVE BEEN (there are so many variables) but again your MPH is there.

Here's some weird examples of what I mean
The only diff beteeen ea of these runs is TIMING
(GOD I LOVE TIMING) hehehehehe
But take a looksy of how much of a diff it plays in ET AND MPH

My First 12 ever way back when ON F-1's
Almost 86 MPH, but only a 8.2 1/8 mi ET (NO n20 of course)

Now here's a run with much less MPH, yet a better 8.0 1/8 mi ET
LESS TIMING than the Program used above (again NO n20)

Now here's a day I was testing diff programs WITH N20.
MPH is right @ what you ran, but look at the better ET and MPH
Still not enough timing BTW. This WAS my original JLP Nitrous Tune used on this run, only @ 12-13 Degrees of timing.

Now look at this Run
This was made a 1/2 hour BEFORE the above run
But on this run I said F- it and used my regular Street Program
16 degrees

As you can see that extra timing added nice MPH and ET

What I proved that day was I do run faster w/ more timing using Juice. This is the Combo I decided to stick with and use to this day. I had Johnny reburned my Nitrous Program to be the same timing as my former Street program, and I asked for my new street program to have more timing, (now 18 degrees)

And to tell you the truth I may end up using that for Nitrous Runs in the future, last time I tested 16 degrees against 18 degrees,
I once again ran faster WITH MORE TIMING AND N20

Point being, you have the MPH, but as you can see that 86MPH can be anything from a 12.5 all the way up to a 12.9.
Tires, Timing, Temp, + Humidity of course play a major part too.

Just for the record
here's the diff between 16 degrees and 18 degrees
Not much, but better ET is better et

Again you see some weird diff's
Although the 2nd run had a better 60ft (1.63, WOO HOO)
and a better final 1/4 mi ET, as you'll notice the 1/8 mi MPH was better on the slower run, even with a bad 60ft (too much air)
and a slower 1/8 mi ET.
This is a tuff balancing act we play while changing a tune

Ok you twisted my arm, I got to show my favorite Slip, WOO HOO

I liked that you showed exactly who you were running again. Nice.

That was actually an interesting post... Thanks, Rob.

I'm really thinking I won't see the full benefit of my nitrous kit until I get back to the mainland, and get tuned by an actual L tuner... The tune by mail might be close, but I'll be leaving a little on the table.

Oh well. If I can crack the 11's while in Hawaii... Ooh, yeah.

Thanks again for the good post, Rob. It's interesting to see how ET and MPH can change, some things the same, some less with better results... Interesting for a newbie like me.
