Actually, there are "temp" plugs and "permanent" plugs. There is a difference!

I don't imagine I'll ever be doing 125 mph, so I think I'll be ok with my plugs.

Plugs can actually cause a tire to seperate, and you know what that means....hold on sucker!!!!

I would not run plugs for an extended period of time.My truck isn't worth the risk over a $10 patch. Not every tire will seperate because of a plug, but I've seen it.Be careful.

There are speed rated plugs and patches. But its hard to find someone who has them or knows what they are. Also they have a max dia. that they are rated for. Artie

ARTIE54:

When I've had NUMEROUS F1's patched
the tire dealer told me that Goodyear removes the speedrating warranty aspect of their tires since they are now "damaged"...something to look further into.

He's got a NEW camera !!!

I wouldn't trust a plug ... the patch inside with the appropriate
rating is OK but just remember that you have it on there. I go
through tires so quick it nevers stays too long, and I have the
track tires to use at speed ...

Now the 140 mph "moseying" is another story ...

Hell ya, I took a pic of my flat

Well well it seems EVERYBODY has the same prob,
these F-1's def seem to pick up and take in everything they run over. As for inside patches, ya I'm sure thats the right thing to do,
and although some may know of a plug letting loose.
This is me we're talking about here, and I got to say, in my dam near 30 yrs drivng, I've NEVER EVER had a problem with one.
AMOF I carry them at all times in the truck and put ea and everyone of those plugs in myself. (Like I say NO ONE has ever picked up a wrench to MY TRUCK)

But as I also said I was happy because I didn't have one in the front, (I obviously race on my Hoosiers in the rear too),
but now I do

One thing is for sure, I have lost MANY perfectly fine tires over the decades, but never one with a plug in it.

I was ok with the 6 plugs in the rear two F-1's, and kind of happy I never had one in the front. Well so much for that, )@$#)@$%)@

Actually the rear had two plugs by the time the truck was a week or two old, then another and another and another and another,
totalling 6 now. Now with the Front this makes 7 plugs in my F-1s'
(and hell no I aint buying new ones, it's only gonna happen again)

I'm about ready to call a Lawyer and get a free set of F-1's from my Company (and no I am not alone) AMOF gee lucky me found a nail in my front tire of my Mitsi-what ever they call it yesterday (@%$#)@$%)@$%$

Is it me, or do these F-1's seem to take in nails REAL EASY ???
ANY OF YOU HAVE NUMEROUS PLUGS IN THE F-1's ???

GOT DAM PLUMBERS, THEY EMPTY and throw THEIR SCHITT ALL OVER OUR PARKING LOTS (@#(@#$(@#$(@$#(@$

Welcome to the world of HVAC/Plumbing..... .

I have been in the HVAC business for 23 years now. Sheet metal screws are a way of life for me...LMAO.

They can't seem to keep the screws/nails from falling through the beds of their trucks. It's gotten to where I discourage the techs parking in the same area as the office personal. Out by our warehouse it's like a mine feild with nails/screws. We have a magnet to attempt to keep it picked up, but everytime they come in with more old equipment, they always leave a few "gifts" lying around the parking lot.

I bet I have pulled hundreds of screws from my tires over the years...LOL. I look at it as a cost of doing business...like lunch money or something.

Good Luck dodging them,

Rocks

I have three plugs on the driver's side. 2 in the front left and 1 in the left rear. Funny thing is, they were all plugged at the same time. I went to put a plug in a tire that I saw a nail in and while I was doin that, I saw 2 more!!!! Damn stupid, arrogant, idoitic, lowlife pos construction wokers droppin ***** all over my driveway from a job being done at my neighbor's house!!!!! As for the safety of plugs, I was testing out my "just installed" AIRAID on a desolate stretch of highway while forgetting about the 3 plugs and took it all the way too 135 mph. NOT a smart thing to do but they held up nonetheless.
