Engine Noise?/ now engine light also!

I have a fluttering sound coming from the engine only when i step on the gas even a half throttle, it sound kinda like a fan, It's not the blower whine. Any Ideas on what this might be?

Does it kind of sound like a bogg?

I know you said fluttering...

You might think about checking your plugs. Reason being, 3 weeks ago I got on my truck late at night like about 3:3am it was 42 degrees here in the great white north! I got on it went to wide open throttle and heard clattering (detonation) I got out of it like right now! Tried to get on it again from a dead stop and heard a fluttering sound. Maybe, bogging sound. Went home pulled my plugs shure as chit! I toasted the #8 plug.

Number 1 thing is to check plugs. Not only to see if they are loose or badly deteriorated. But to read what your tune is. (killing 2 birds with one stone)

If that's ok, then I'd get a mechanics steth-o-scope and start trying to isolate where the noise is coming from.

Is it directly related to rpms? Or related only to load?

Check the plugs for sure, but it could also be an exhast leak. It sounds like a soft flutter that gets louder with increased load.

My stock exhaust had a slight one. If you've ever loosened the collector bolts, that's probably it. Mine got worse after the catback install. I've got it under control now and it's livable. Just have to do some adjusting on the pipe angle.

i will check the plugs asap, i just took the L for a drive and the noise almost sounds like it is comming from underneath the engine, when it is in park and i rev the engine there is no noise, i had the plugs change when i got the chip and pulley at REM about a month and a half ago
