Konig,

Unfortunately the valve is in the fuel tank, actually it is an integral part of each fuel pump.

There are aftermarket, high flow units out there, probably cost less than OE.

Another possibility, if $$ is a problem, would be to post a WTB for a pair of OE "take-offs" either here on the NLOC or the NHTOC.

Good Luck.

I would pay twice the OE price if the damn thing keeps working.... I have dumped so much money into this thing already...why stop now?

I think I may have the same problem with my 1999 Expedition 5.4L. Frequently when I get in the vehicle and turn the key over the SUV will not start. The ignition seems fine but it just does not fire. If I wait for a few minutes it usually works fine. I even turn the key on for a few seconds and it does not seem to help. Since this is intermitent I hate to take it in to hear "can;t find the problem, that will be $$$". I installed a new battery but that did not help either. I am thinking I do not get spark or fuel. Is there a test I can do to determine which is the culprit? This is definitly inconvenient and frequently embarrassing so i am anxious to get resolved.

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it, even if it is a diagnostic unit that attaches to the Schrader valve.
