For you guys looking at best dyno numbers and track times. Use a boost controller to turn down your boost with an aftermarket pulley and use more nitrous. Boost increases intake temps which in turn increases the risk of detonation and makes the intake charge less dense. Nitrous is a great super cooler and has the opposite effect which equals more power.

But if your kit is all that, than please show us a link and a price.
I would love to see someone re-invent the wheel, and I'm always looking for a better product.
BTW
WELCOME WHO EVER YOU ARE

I do know denny and I know his products. I stress that he is not here to sell just inform. he did tune a local viper which put down the most hp at a local dyno day. The only mod was the nitrous kit. I can undestand everyone's apprehension to a new product. It's kinda like cai. Everyone knows k&n cause they advertise so much. The nitrous comapnies are the same way. I'll see if he still has the dyno's from the viper and have him post them

Hi Denny,

Thanks for the info, funny you mention parker, I use it in my industry. I'm the "Director of Commercial Sales" for NY's largest Plumbing Supply. I sell tons of their 24v and line voltage Solenoide Valves usually on a weekly basis, Jake Evans by Parker.

You've impressed me with your product, and people seem to back you up, so my next question is, why haven't we ever heard of this system before ? Is it a new Company ?
As I said maybe yours is better, but I also see it's close to 3 times the price as Zex so I would imagine it better be. Your jets system does sound interesting, you've peaked my interest, screw in hu ?

I've been juicing since the late 70's, AMOF I currently have my old Nitrous Kawi Motorcycle rotting on the side of my shed. SOB still runs like a raped ape too. I've also used it on multi Big Block Chevelles through the decades.

For the small level of 50 -75 HP I feel the Zex is a great kit,
if I ever blow this motor I will step up to 150 or more HP, and then I'll want a totally diff delivery system, maybe a multi stage direct injection system.

"BUT" I still think it would benefit you greatly to give me a kit for free to try out
I'd bring you in a ton of business

There you go. Convince Rob, and I'd buy a kit.

Besides NX and Zex, what other options are there? Those are the only two I've seen our vendors selling...

Do other companies sells kits for our Lightnings, that might be good if later on I want to step up the power? I haven't seen any... If anyone has a URL, that'd be nice. I'm just curious as to what else is offered.

Highpower nitrous products are not known in the U.S. because the company is based in the U.K. Add to the fact that Trev the owner has never done any mass marketing and we want to be more of a specialized company like Porche or Ferrari. We are not sales driven like the other companies. We want to deal one to one with every customer.

The products have been in developement for over 20 years. You have actually not seen anyhting yet. There is a system that Trev shelved a long time ago because the public wouldn't accept it that will really be a huge advancement over the rest. Trev felt that the NOS solenoids he used originally needed a huge improvement, so he has dedicated his life to making and progressing the best products available.

The old NX Maximiser's were built by Highpower until Mike Wood of NX ego was bigger than his knowledge and humanity. So I am now the U.S. distrubutor of the new units and the complete kits.

Our cost is a problem because we have import taxes, a crappy conversion rate, and a conversion rate charge. None the less we have a Lifetime Warranty on all products along with 24/7 customer service that is as profesional as we can make it.

I'm out the door for the weekend but I will be back Sunday night and we can discuss more than.

One last thing. Every customer ranging from people using nitrous for 20 plus years is amazed at the qaulity and finish of our products. I even have our bottles custom painted a mettalic charcoal gray with wet paint that is more efficient for nitrous and better looking. The other companies use a powder coating that is thicker, which prolongs the heat recover time of the contents. I can go into every area of the other comapnies and show you where they need improving. A non painted bottle is best though, but people want some kind of finish for a sreet vehicle.

Have a good weekend.

and he hasn't officially said no to hooking up Nitrous Ronbo
(thats me) yet with one of his kits
it would be the best business move you ever made...

Here, you'd enjoy this
20 somewhat years ago, no one made Nitrous for a Motor Cycle yet. Me always being a Juice Head, I had a Company out in Ca custom make one for me, there still around I think, 2000 RPM (or 10,000 RPM I think it's called) I bought a brand new 650 Kawi SR (Street Racer), bored it to 826, put 10.25 Weisco Pistons in it, switched from (4) 28mm to (4) 32 mm Smooth Bore racing carbs,
new racing cams, headers, re-geared the sprockets, bla bla bla...
The nitrous kit contained a full size automotive 12V electric fuel pump, 2 solenoids, etc... not easy to hide...
The hardest part was the bottle, it originally came with a huge tank, I eventually switched it to 10 lbs and had it mounted off a custom made rear sissy bar, cops use to Love me, hehehehehe

I got it back a few weeks ago for free, and now it's sitting and rotten out in my yard. I was thinking about re doing it, but alots been stolen or stripped and everything is rusted.
Not worth it, I'm going to push it to the curb this weekend I think with a sign --> take me for free <-- Been jucing every since on and off, nitrous has been very very good to me through the years. And I've never lost a Motor as a result Shot 150 HP for many many years on two Big Block Chevelles, thats where I learned to really hate micro switches or buttons mounted in my shifter's.

I don't know how Zex does it, BUT THEY DO. I can get out there and WOT it from a dead idle at the track, cut a 1.63 60ft and run 0 to 115 without any spin or trouble launching, and thats with 100% stock suspension, exhuast, tranny, and cooling system.
And Zex has assured me there is no problem juicing it from a dead stop, the system is designed for that. With a Micro switch it was never ever possible for me to do that.

All I'm saying is they make a dam good product for the buck, with outstanding results, and flawless operation. I highly recommend it, but we're always looking for something better.
Now that our pissing contest is over, and we're like best friends
(dude you should hook me up with a system) hehehehe, we can talk and drop the BS. It seems you have yourself a very high end, high tech, excellent quality system there. As someone already mentioned (and you know) you have to be careful not to promote a product, you haven't.

I would like to get some more info, and in certain situations you can set up a group buy through Doug/Steve/Clone, or one of our Vendors. If enough of the Community was interested in buying your system, it should get the price down to fairly good number.
[b]Of course we'll use mine as the prototype PAL
(for free of course)

Here, this is what nitrous looked like in the stone age......

Ya I know it look like schitt now, SOB been sitting and rotten for over 20yrs off the road now. (I kinda lost it in a deal gone bad when I was young and wild), Now I'm fat old, but still act like 10....
the funny part about it is, it's still registered in my Name, no one ever registered it in all the years. An old buddy of mine ended up with it and dropped in unexpected with it recently, and said here (gee thanks look at it now.....)

You believe it only has 8k on it, what a waste.....

Got to admitt, for 25 years ago, it was quite ahead of it's time
and actually still has a nie look.

Sometimes I can not believe I use to strap my self to that beast,
WOT it all day long, and almost double it's Orig HP
with the added Nitrous "YIKES"

it was prob better that I lost it before I killed myself. Through the years you learn to respect certain things, and sometimes even controll them.....

I hope this answers your questions? If not I can elaborate
I reckon you have answered them in a general sorta way. But I'm a Motown product engineer w/a little intake & HVAC experience. I spend my days focusing on tree bark, not looking at the whole forest. It's just how my brain works these days.

I still want to understand a few things... Keep in mind I've never dealt with nitrous in any way so I may ask off base questions. I'm just trying to fully understand how your products excell above the competition. BTW: I'm looking to purchase something as soon as I gain a full understanding. (**And as long as it's not over a certian $$ amount**)

The sooner the nitrous is injected the more your intake charge will be cooled
I can see this in a NA motor. But I really don't like the idea of that big of a thermocycle on my rotors. I'm trying pretty hard to find the best balance of longevity & torque in my Lightnings stock motor. You can see my web page as to where I'm currently at.

I also really REALLY wonder that by the time the fuel and NO2 go through the blower, the IC, and finally make it to each port?.... I REALLY am curious as to how well the cylinder to cylinder distribution is? I mean good grief! First the atomized NO2 and fuel goes through a blender, then a *strainer* (where the fuel will form droplets on) leaning out the mix a bit, then onto the large cavity / plenum, and into each very short port.

Seems to me also that it would take less NO2 to have the same effect if injected downstream of the blower?

"Our unique jet location"
Where on a ford 5.4L S/C do you place this jet?

Look fwd to your response early next week, Rich

I agree with rob, let him try out the system, hes pretty honest. I respect his point of view. unless they give him a contract? I have to also thank rob for the morse ceramic brakes, I bought a full set and the brake dust is almost non existent.

Rob,
I would like to thank you for being open minded and professional. This extends to others that have read the post also and not decided to bash us. The weekend has been very busy and tiring, so give me a bit to get things sorted and think about setting you up with a kit. We are not fans of this as we would not be in business long giving away kits, but I do look at the long term and how this could create exposure.

You and Trev would have a good time talking as he started off on bikes back in the 70's also. He has gone through the traps at over 100 mph on his back and before his bike even made it. Unfortunately Trev even lost part of his leg in one serious crash. When we descide on a fair deal I'll send along some pictures of Trev's first bikes. You want to talk about death traps. LOL Those first bikes have set many world and European records in their day though. Like your kit, Trev was building his own solenoids and custom kits even back then. The factories were laughing at him while he was kicking their *** on the track.

While Trev was developing his kits way back then he came across a way to tune the A/F with what we called a static test. We have the only kit that can do this because of our jet location. You have someone take the revs to a 1/3 of the redline and hold them there while at idle and in park. Manually activate the nitrous and see what the revs rise to and if everything sounds fine. The closer the motor revs to the redline the closer you are to optimal power and a accurate A/F. The further away and you are most likely to rich unless you have an ignition problem. We suggest being about 500 rpms short of redline to keep the mixture a bit rich for better safety and optimal acceleration. My Viper customers were a bit worried and skeptical until they saw me do this with a 300 shot. Our Promod friend does it with a 400 shot of nitrous. You have to be brave as with high hp numbers the revs will rise instantly and this can scare the crap out of some people. So for you guys that think this is not a good idea and only running 75-150 shot I can ensure you it is perfectly safe but only with our kits. The other kits have the jet so close to the injector that the terible lean out condition can and will cause a backfire and possibly some real damage.

Rich,

Ask as many questions as you want until you feel secure in the info given and confident in understanding nitrous enough to use it.

Could you explain more on what worries you have about thermocycling on your rotors? I'm not the end all to information, but I'm also not aware of any problems with s/c rotors and thermocycling. As far as I know there is nothing to worry about. I will run this across Trev as he has much more experience and knowlegde about such things and will try to give you more info.

Your concerns about distribution mainly have to do with the design of your intake manifold. This will take into account laminar flow and bernoulli effect. With technology and more efficient motors in modern cars I believe that if the normal motor has good distribution then things shouldn't change with nitrous. With cars like the Viper that have a straight intake shooting across a cylinder bank we have to play with the injector angle so we don't get leanout on th first cylinder. Again I will run this info by Trev to get more info for you if I can. There is nothing like experience and Trev has 20 + years of this over me, so if I can't answer a question, Trev has always been able to do it for me.

"Seems to me also that it would take less NO2 to have the same effect if injected downstream of the blower?"
If you really wanted every bit of power from nitrous then we could set up a system where you would have a second nitrous "only" injector at the very beginning of your intake to help cool the charge earlier and then have your combined fuel/nitrous injector furhter downstream so you don't have fuel drop-out problems. This is only for people that want to go through the trouble of getting that extra tenth or so, but it's worth the trouble to be able to win. Not much demand for this specialized system though. LOL

Our unique jet location is the same for all applications. We house the jets in the outlet of the solenoids so we can slow down the nitrous so you don't have that hard hit(lean out) condition like the other kits. The only drawback but can be corrected is to keep the outlet lines to the injector as short as possible. Otherwise since the pressure is minimized already, the longer you have the lines the softer the power will be and can cause loss of performance. This is another benefit of our nylon lines as they can be cut to length. The competition gives you a set length of lines which can be very long in some applications and this hurts performance.

I see no kit for a Lightning on your Web Site. Do you plan on testing your system on a lightning and posting the results? Could you give me some idea what a complete kit would cost. E-mail lowrider02@adelphia.net

Thanks, Peter

Wow, this thread sure got interesting .

As many know, PSP has more experiance running nitrous on Gen 2s than any other vendor/tuner. And before the Gen 2s were out, we ran spray on many other vehicles as well. Over the years, I have either used or tuned all the major brands of nitrous kits. Like most, I started out with NOS products. As time went on and I was exposed to other brands, I realized just how much NOS stuff was pure junk. I felt that NX brand products were the best quality and performance I had come across, so that's why I chose to use their parts for our nitrous kits.

When the ZEX kits came out, I looked into those as well. I don't like them. They are too inconsistant. Dyno sheets I was getting from customers were showing A/F would change up and down on back to back pulls with no changes. I've never seen another nitrous kit do that. I have access to buying them and could sell them, but chose not too.

We have also tested port locations and different injection systems. Our PSP nitrous plate locates the nozzle in a specific place, and it's for optimum location. We did a custom spray bar setup in our test truck. It's been more trouble than it was worth. The only reason I did it, was because when we started running really big shots, we were having distribution issues spraying it behind the TB.

As for Denny and Racetested, I am also interested in his posts. I am always looking for better products, to use myself and bring to my customers. I like ideas that go against the grain, especially if they perform better. I am not a nitrous manufacturer, so I cannot dispute the hard parts. I just know tuning, and which kits perform better than others. I'd love to compare one of his kits to our current PSP/NX kit, to see just what kind of difference there is. I will say one thing though about Racetested/Highpower. I bought one of the old Maximizers through NX. It was the biggest piece of junk I ever spent my hard earned money on. It never worked right from day one. It went back to NX three times to be "repaired" and still doesn't work right. When NX stopped carrying them, I was now stuck with a very expensive paperweight. Denny from Racetested e-mailed me a while back promoting Racetested/Highpower to my company about being the company that made the old Maximizers for NX and that they could still be bought from him. I replied asking for help with mine and never got a response. This is not a bash, just something that really pissed me off, as I still have this paperweight sitting here. But I'd definitely love to get more info on their systems.
