Do you have any problem getting your Girlfriend in your Lightning ?

And I know TO SOME a car or truck is just a car or truck,
but that will never ever be the case for me, and yes I will put a special vehicle (like my L) ahead of a GF on many ocassions. However I also know what it means to make a compromise and sacrifice. I sold a 70 BB Chevelle SS when I bought my house for a mere 5K give or take, today it would cost my a good 30-50k
to replace it, "if I could find one".
I've always said, your other half doesn't have to be into what your into, "BUT" they do have to understand your love for that hobby and stand behind you
Yes someday I will get rid of the Lightning, but only to replace it with a Viper, or 66 Chevelle, Hemi Cuda, etc....
Either Way the women needs to understand that is a part of me that will never go away, even when I'm in my 60's

Rob, if she's got big cans, keep her. It'll be worth it. 
My wife really liked the L until I modded it. Now she hates the blower whine and think it shifts too hard. OK by me though, cause I don't have to worry about her asking to drive it.

Just for the record:
I love driving our L (not that I have since last year) but I have no desire to take it down the track. My theory is that I don't race his so he can't race mine. Lucky bastage took it for a run while I was video taping at one of our rentals last year. Someone said look the Wood is running & I said "uh, no, I'm standing right here". Sure enough he decided to take it. Poor guy still can't beat my best pass with it (then he blames it on my truck).

Mine is a mix of some of your stories... She always wants to drive it around town or on long trips....she loves the track and car shows..... she does think I’m obsessed with cleaning it, but she won’t complain really...she cleans the wheels sometimes for me since I hate doing it.
She does that bragging thing sometimes too....the first 4 months we started dating she told just about everyone she knows that I had an L. She doesn’t complain about me driving fast unless I’m pissed about something.... which I don’t blame her for.
She DOES NOT like sliding though.... I played in the rain ONE TIME, just kicked the tail around about 5 or so feet to straiten it out.... even though no one else was on the road .....but I also understand how someone may not dig that
I told her I have been doing it since I was 15, but she doesn’t care...she tells me to at least warn her ahead of time.....but I never know when I’m going to do it. She's lucky she doesnt ride home with me after work... leaving my work complex gets a little *smokey* sometimes

She was a keeper until I found out she was cheating on me with a crack dealer. Upon learning this I told her to f*ck off, and then she started showing up outside my house at 2am stoned out of her mind begging me to take her back. Had to get a restraining order.

My FIance is great. SHe loves it when I race someone and win. She even claps. LOL SHe is like my own little cheer leader.
The other night I was out playing with an LS1 Trans Am and was just giving it enough gas to stay side by side... she looks over at me and says.. "Are you going to press on the gas or what?" LOL

Don....you bass turd.....have you been dating MY girlfriend???? Thats sooo funny...we almost broke up because of her poor filming of my first 12 second run! We are 5 years TODAY....and she wants either a Cobra or a 65 stang as soon as we get a house!
However, she drives it plenty, and has taken it down the track at JDM day...the crazy biatch ripped off a 2.00 sixty, and ran a 13.3 on the street program!!!!!!!!!!

She has only been with me when I've raced twice. She really doesn't like that too much so I don't do it around her. She doesnt like when I tell her about races either because she thinks it'd dumb to do it on the street. When I tell her about all my speeding tickets, she gets really upset about that.
Funny story though. On ne of our first dates I took her out to a movie and I pulled up to a red light. And it was in the summer, and the windows were down, and the guy was ina nice Vette. It was a clean lt1 like a 95 or something. We were sitting there for a minute and he looked over and said nice truck, and the light turned green and he took off. And I just took off like normal, but the vett took off racing. We get to the next light and my girlfriend says Shane, come on "nice car" means wanna race. I knew then I had a winner.
