My special lady friend as yet to ride in my L (just got it) but shes already telling me to slow down. I took it over to show to her and she said she couldn't understand what was wrong with my last truck. I told her she would understand once she got a ride in this one. But she was sick so I didnt want to risk my nice interior

While she is no longer my g/f but now my wife, she loves the truck. ALWAYS wants to drive it to work. ALWAYS wants to take it whenever we go somewhere. Likes a good run up to 120, loves and expects to go sideways (once in a while), loves the whine, and best of all, loves that none of my other friends can lay claim to the fastest vehical of the group cuz I can spank them all (but they still have the fastest R/Cs, ATVs, and Snowmobiles).

She especially loves how my one friend (who she dont get alone with) that thinks he is mister badass with his V6 Firebird was saying how he didnt like the looks or the ride or that "annoying" whine. Then he askes what that "annoying" whine was. She says "Thats the sound of horsepower. Its something you know nothing about" BURN!

My ex-gf used to "hate" my truck, but mainly from the fact that I gave it so much attention, lol.

Just a couple weeks ago when we were hanging out, she said, "Since we broke up I havn't been fast in a long time, can you go fast?"

LOL! Surely! Took her up to 135mph and she loved it. Muahahaha.

Need to find one like that, that WONT get jealous of the truck while dating.

WOW very mixed answers indeed, it seems 1/2 of you have the same problem, and the other half have great L women THUMBS UP

My old GF was totally into it, drove in it all the time, and constantly asked to drive it, NOT, but she was just outright mean and pissed off at the world because she's in CC hell, broke, has a crappy job, and lives in a basement apartment. The frigging Girl complained more than me, (and my son didn't like her) Dam she was crazy as schitt in the sack though, I miss that part.... I couldn't take it no more and finally dumped her.

Vinnie I dumped my X wife cause she turned into a Crack Head, believe me I know the insanity, she's been in and out of jail prob 70- 80% of the last 7 or 8 years since I throw her a$$ out and divorced her. But man can she get wild and crazy in the sack.

I got out of one marriage with the house and full custody of my son, and I know that'll never happen again so that keeps me extra careful now a days.

Michele is extremly nice, a little nieve (I LOVE THAT PART), young and skinny w/ 2 beautiful daughters. Me and my Son both truly love her, and her daughters too, they're sooooooooo mellow and well mannered. But I know if we were to become one, I would be broke as schitt, have to give up many of my bad habbits, and I just know she would not understand me having to tell her FU Beech, I'm putting 15K on the CC for a built motor, AND NO we do not have the money to send Nicole to dance class

The older you get the more set in your way's you get. Same for women.

If she has most of the good quality's you want in a person I would consider staying with her.

Most people our age have so much extra baggage and problems from there past.

Maybe you could let her drive the L and have control of the truck. I think that is what scares them most. It's not the truck there afraid of its the driver!

Just for grin's tell her you got a ticket for drag racing on the street and see what her reaction is.

If you can deal with that reaction then your home free.

I always figure it is better to be home with them and working on your truck than out bar hopping and really throwing money away and getting in trouble.

I live alone and have lot's of toys but it would be much more fun to have someone to enjoy them with. I am looking forward to introducing my Grandson's to the car fun. There father is a nice guy but he can't even start his own lawn mower. My daughter has to do it.

Sounds like you have a keeper Rob and you know you need that balance in your life. Don't think of it as giving something up, try and think of it as life without nitrous and 16 degrees of timing.

 

Well I am sorta with Rob I see 1/2 have probs and half don't, But I do see some guys are way to obsessed IT IS ONLY A TRUCK don't gey me wrong I love my truck but it will be replaced over time as where a good woman will last a lifetime or atleast thats the way I see it.
My wife she could really care less about the truck it is just a car to her she will only complain when I clean it and not the explorer wich is always a mess (in side ) it is filled with cheerios thanks to my 8 month old daughter.My wife doesn't want to drive it either she says its to loud and shifts to hard and with no room for 3 we always use the mommy mobile wich is a plus but if I get the Cobra I think I will be the only 12-11 sec car at E-town with a baby seat in it...lol
I also think I am in a differant siuation then most me and the wife have been together since 1990 and got married in 98 actually 6 yrs this Sunday.( I am only 30 )
I will say the do change when they have a baby us guys just drop down the list we were #1 in there life now we are #2 and so on if you have more than one kid and they worry about everything and anything.
To stop my long pointless rant only thing she has ever said is I am not allowed to accumalte new stuff if I want something new I have to sell something I have had alot of toys and still do that is why I just sold my R-6 for 5500 and gonna get (I hope ) Vert Cobra thats a fair swap too me...
I guess I got it good or I am just too dumb to figure out that I work for her....(like all of us do ) we are just servants....lol.

Man I love my gf. We will be just riding around on a rainy day or somthing and ill just go sideways and floor it going sideways she just hangs on to the door and finishes her conversation while im going side ways. When i see someone to race she just looks at me and smiles and i remember this one time i raced a trans am ram air (I think it was a ws6 somthing like that) on the highway and it beat me and she turns to me and say it wasn't my fualt i started laughing so hard. She doesn't like me to spend a lot of money on my truck. She says if i save up then i can use it on my truck like im quiting smoking and im putting money in a jar kinda like if i was buying smokes well she says keep it till the end of the summer and if you have enough money go port out your s/c so thats what im doing i love my girl and i think she loves driveing fast or she knows i love driving fast and she just doesn't say anything. i tell i want my truck really fast and she says somtimes my head is already flining to the back of the seat. shes the best thing thats happened to me, o my girlfriend too lol

 

My wife never liked any of my cars and she says she dosen't care about the Lightning but I know better. I bought the L in Dec. and we had a POS Chrysler we had to dump so the wife got the L and I got a new Cobra, now she tells everyone she knows about her L and Cobra and how fast they are. She won a 2nd place trophy at our first outing and we have been going to Lightning and SVT meetings and drives and she is really getting into it, I was happy as a clam with my two new rides the wife liking it was a bonus. She used to scream at me for driving like I have a backbone but she seems to have stopped since she started driving the L, I think I will keep her after all.

There was such a division in thought between my last girlfriend and I (4 year relationship) that we would never talk about my passion for "go fasts and classic's". In fact when it was all coming to an end (thank god I finally grew the ***** to do so) one of her final comments was "you have your priorities all screwed up - you care more about your truck and car than me, you spend more money on them, more time on them blah blah blah blah on an on".

When that special woman doesn't buy into something that is so important to you it just isn't worth it in my opinion.

Do you hear us dudes complaining about their girly stuff, no - do you hear us complaining about shopping habits - well maybe that isn't a good one to use - the point is even if you don't like what the other person is into - shut the hell up about it if your talking smack!

Oh the new girl (awesome) on our first date I took down a new M and AMG 55 at the same time - all she said was - "that was fun" - yeah she's a keeper.
