Yeah I'm fairly new to the mod motor world so I wasn't sure what if any kits were out there for a stroker. Also I was unaware that you had to buy a kit to overbore your motor, i.e. SHM big bore kit, is there something special about this or is it just a simple overbore. I know with a decent 460 block you can go .180 over bore and still be sittin good.

Just curious,
Dustin

There is something very special about this. The stock 5.4 block can't be bored more than .020 without becoming dangerous. The big bore kits consist of sleves for the block to have any substantial over bore. Also i don't think as of so far any sleves have been made for a bigbore on a stock block due to the thickness of the cylinder. I do know that some are under developement though.

Then what kind of aftermarket blocks are guy's goin' with? I've seen DSS Racing has some short and long blocks for sale, but no bare blocks.

Sorry for all the questions, but this is all fairly new to me, I'm a sponge!

At one point Sean Hyland performance was in the process of developing a Aluminum 5.4 block with siamesed cylinders. This should allow over sized sleves to be used in the block. This block was supposed to go into production in 03 but ive yet to hear anything about the block.
