Aluminium Race Blocks

Well it seems like the true leader in Mod Motors has developed another cool product. The Block was on display at PRI this past weekend and with up to a 3.75 inch bore that means up too 6 Liters on a 5.4, things should get interesting this year. Since these blocks allow for such a big bore, I wonder what kinda power there is to be had by destroking these things. That would really allow for a High Horsepower High rev motor.

4.6 Motorsport Block $3995

5.4 Motorsport Block $4495

I wonder if/when JDM releases thier Block and if it will be cheaper ? SHM products have always been High but the quality and performance is proven

The aluminum block was allready r&d 'ed by Don at Modular Madness. Kept blowing head gaskets. Too much cylinder wall movement. He has since switched back to cast Iron with better results.

Any other specifics to this claim ? The reason I ask is because SHM isnt gonna have a outside source do his R&D, he does it or John Mihovetz does it on his 6.7@200+ 4.6L Cougar. Are you saying this same block was R&D or another vendor ?

Aluminum 4.6

BigFan, www.karkraft.com has a few super strong Alum/ 4.6 left for $795 they were for export. and Ford doesn't make them anymore. Extra webbing, and a really thick pan rail. I bought one for what ever. It's a fantastic looking piece. Ed

I would have thought that you guys would be all over this product. Aluminum block weighs alot less then a Iron block, thus weight reduction. It is strokeable to 6.2L, BIG HP #'s

FYI: The SHM short block will be quite a bit more pricey then either one that you guys listed. It will keep alot of the weekend warriors away. Upwards of about $10,000

I agree but I guess unless its a X Vendor sux, SRT Sux or Street Racing is cool, the thread wont go anywhere.
