How important is TPS voltage and boost actuator adj. after blower reinstall?
How important is TPS voltage and boost actuator adj. after blower reinstall?
I know the boost actuator needs to be readjusted after reinstall (hijacking l-menace's thread). But can improper adjustment of this and the TPS (if blower removal can screw it up) cause a considerable power loss? Any good thread on adjusting both of these?
I don't care about the thread,
I kinda have the same question.
I think there are several people who just threw the ported eaton on without doing proper adjustments.
I'm heading to the dyno MONDAY to be tuned and need everything perfect by then.

Unfortunatly due to 800 days of rain in a row I haven't been able to check either and I got one day left before leaving for cecil
My thought is, I already set up my TB + TPS when it originally went on, so by simply removing and re-installing the TB, WITH THE TPS ATTACHED there should be no change "or" readjustment needed of course "if" you took the TPS off the TB and then put it back on, YOU WOULD
As for the Boost Actuator,
I think far more people "than actually needed" mess with it.
Although I did have plans on looking it over before Cecil, but due to the weather and insane week, I cant. It does seem the Can fixed my prob anyway
The most important thing to me is "when" I get my Boost, (AND MINE IS PERFECT RIGHT NOW) I can simply roll away from a stop sign or light and with oh so little pedal, get an instant and good 10 or more immediate lbs of boost. (you know with like a 1/4-1/3 quick stap of the pedal) If I can hook enough to WOT it, that SOB is pushing major boost of 15 or more with a simple 4lbr, Saturday the Upper goes back on also. The true test is when steadily crusing at 80 MPH you should be showing basically NO BOOST, the guage should be in the "0" range somewhere (give or take a little of course) any further pushing of the pedal should net you immediate and consistant growing boost as you push down further (mine does that too)
Unless you really have a reason to mess with it, or your L is not producing boost as it should, I see no reason too.
If I can run my best ET yet Saturday, I'm leaving everything adjusted right where it is.....
All I'm concerned of right now, is bringing it home in one piece.

I have a personal opinion on this accuator adjustment. If I am going 80, i want to see vaccum. I dont see my stock crap-ola guage read dead zero till about 120mph steady. Anymore than that and i start to see constant boost. If you are seeing dead zero at 80mph, i sure would hate to be paying for your gas. I can see the power benefits of this, but my god fuel economy must take a beating. Maybe its just my sensible side kicking in.
Or maybe my truck isnt normal? Maybe this is why I can get 17miles per gallon cruising 80mph on the highway. any opninions on this?

This is the setting you are striving for more so than whether the actuator level is on the stop. I found that my lever setup was different on the new blower.

As for thre Boost Actuator, I didn't remove mine, and all I know
is mine came back installed and working A OK in my book.
Mine re-acts identical as it did 100%stock.
Reads "0" feather pedal 80 MPH crusing , and instant boost anything more than that. And while taking off, like I say it's 10 lbs with a simple 1/4 - 1/3 push of the pedal, and Major Boost at WOT (15+). This is the identical way mine always worked ?
After Cecil, I'll give it a check but I like it just the way it is....
Gas mileage, WHATS THAT , hehehehehe
I've been getting between 9 + 11 since the day I bought it.....
Not trying to scare ya Rob.
If I was trying to scare you...........you wouldn't show up
It just sounded like some doubt has crept into your mind, especially after 3 months of crying wolf

But less than a tenth more from me and you wouldn't have.
Was I faster at English Town, YES I WAS by more than 1/10
It was my Best ET to date AND I GOT MORE NOW
Do I have a clue on what you've done since (I know some) No I don't ? And do I trust you, No I don't. I hope that answers your question

As long as we both bring home nice mid/upper 11's and keep it in one piece Buddy, I will gladly accept the results of OUR STAND OFF EITHER WAY
BUT YOU ARE GONNA BE MY BITCH WHEN IT'S OVER
