I'm stationed with AFchad at Macdill AFB Tampa! Plus there are two or three more Lightnings on base. He's got the fastes one, but at least I can say I have the biggest rims. "Twinkie Two's"

Hey ND4SP, I was at Dyess about a year and a half ago. 9th Bomb Squadron Bats!! I worked PS&D. I have a Red 99 Lightning. I think I had the only Gen. 2 Lightning at that time also. I see they have the BONE on static now from your picture. Looks good, but better when its flying!
Sweet, I'm in the 28th. Hey were you ever in Honor Guard. I was in it about 2 years ago and there was a guy with a red L. I went on a rotation that he was on he said yeah I have the red lightning and I told him I had a red 95GT. Does that ring a bell, or was that someone else.

5 years?

Get out early?

When I was in, it was a 4 or 6 year enlistment.

Did that change? My EAS was Oct. 1996.

jamzwayne, some of the MOS's that those Marines spend alot of time in school have a 5yr contract. You got out a month before I enlisted.

Myself, I have been in the Marine Corps for right around 7.5 yrs.

School was a year so I had to give that extra year on my contract. Kind of ironic since I joined the military so I wouldnt have to go to school.

I race the Gandy bridge sometimes.....as there is always alot of cars out. On Saturdays, there is quite a few "L" and Mustangs out and meet at the Sonic on Gandy.
My big even will most likely be Gainsville. Think I will enter the Tough Truck competition.

LOL
Its nice to know that somethings never go out of style

WOW, small world man. Yeah I was in Delta Flight and it would be about 3 years ago this summer that I talk to you so it's been awhile, don't really remember what you look like but I most defintely remember the L because there was no other one on base and I knew one day I would roll one. We were in the Honor Guard van coming from Dallas I think and I said something about a Camaro that had past us and you remarked " I'd smoke him" and I said what do you drive and you said a red L. Actually go figure there are two L's on base now. Mine and another white L a 99/00. Doesn't really keep to clean though, it's a shame. I also know Phill pretty good too.

Awesome, I will be down there a lot this summer, send me an email sometime and I will meet you out there, I know about 3-4 other local guys with L's that like to head over there too, later man.

USAF Munitions Systems Specialist from 1986 - 1990. My last base was sunny Luke AFB in Phoenix, AZ. My father was USAF and my girlfriends 2 sons are in the Army. I'm glad to hear that there is still a lot of people taking pride in joining the military. I had a great time while I was in and wouldn't trade it for anything.
