Sorry it caused you big time headaches.

I didn't think it was a stupid question asking how the vendors got involved with Lightnings.

I am sorry that someone is using that info in the wrong way.

Pretty wierd but I was just downloading banking transactions and someone somehow got my check card number and used it to make some calls on some AT&T 800 number. The charges happened on the 16th but were just posted today. Luckily that's all they tried to do so far. I used to use my check card for everything, but in the past 6 months or so it is just used at MAC machines. Sons of b!tches! Now my accounts are frozen.

Another good point to remember is that DEBIT
cards are NOT protected by law that limits your
losses to $50.00 if stolen or used by someone
else.

Greg, sorry that you were taken advantage like
that, but it isn't like the info isn't out there. Anyone
can do a credit check on someone. With reverse
number lookup and other net tools, your info is
only seconds away.

Sad that someone would mess with ya though.

I am getting so sick of loosers trying to live off other peoples hard work.

Sorry to have started this thread.

I am not a computer person so maybe someone can chime in. Maybe the owners of this site can trach who looked at this link somehow, get the FBI involved,

and track them down that way?

That would be close to impossible with all of the hits this site gets. Plus there was no crime committed. Just someone checking information. Also, it could have been a coincidece that a person or company just happened to check after that post was made.

Note to scum.......Go get job before you mess with the wrong person and that person uses a private detective to track you down and then the person kills you and your whole worthless genetic pool .

Well, half of that is a good idea, I may even do it. I didn't think it was a stupid question, and I enjoyed answering it, kind of. IT's the first place I ever really wrote down a few things that maybe some people knew, and at least one that I'm pretty usre hardly anyone knew. I'm just resentful is all, I called my accountant this morning and cancelled my life (and this less than 3 weeks before doing my tax return, which is going to be really complicated this year), I think I'm going on a bread and water diet until he can get me new debit cards etc.. (btw, no, debit carsds do not get the $50 limited coverage that CC gets, but they are FDIC insured so if you know how to fill out the paperwork you have zero liability on them)

thanks everyone, I hope it going ot be fine, I've taken steps. The really weird thing is all the info they may have gotten is not going to get stale, they can sit on it for 10 years and then use it, when any traces of how they got it are gone. How about this, wait say 3 years, ( a lot of records go ***POO******* in 3 years) and then just do a quickie check to make sure i'm still here, and then sell the data Jeez, I have to start thinking that way....

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Don't forget to put a fraud alert on your credit report! It's not foolproof, but it sure will help.

How did you find out that someone had checked your credit?
