Thoughts on L as a Daily Driver?
I don’t have a second car yet, so I don’t have a choice. If I did have a beater..which I might in the next year or so.. I would definitely keep the L garaged.... probably just drive it to the track, shows, the beach, or on nice sunny weekends.
I don’t like the fact that I have put 45k miles on it already, 28k of which have been in the last 17 months. I was way under mileage before that, which felt nice. I would really like some sort second car, probably a bronco or standard f-150

Mine is a DD now, I just sold the stang in the picture below yesterday
, so now I will be throwing most of the money toward the loan...I wish my wife would let me get a motorcycle
but that wont happen for a while.

Scott,
How do you like that hood? How does it fit?
I'm hoping to be getting one in the next few weeks through a group purchase over on the NLOC website.
ewww i hate the hood, it fits like crap, its non functional.... it weights a ton!!!!
j/k its nice... i just dont want many people to have it... when I got it, there werent many around....
I drive my 03 L every day, and I live over 9400 feet up in the Rockies in Colorado. I do use some Yokohama Geolander snow tires and have 300 lbs of sand in the back. It actually drives great in the snow with the tires and sand and I have driven in many heavy snow storms with unplowed roads. Never once got stuck.
I love this truck and wouldn't trade it for any other. I also tow my car trailer with it.
Good Luck,
Greg

I use my 03L as a work truck, i paint APT's, and work about 2.5 miles from the house 90% of the time. I only carry paint at the APT places i work, i never carry paint to and from home.
The way i drive i would have 5 gal paint cans rolling all over the bed.
It has 2500 miles on it , and still looks as new as it did when i bought it 8 months ago!

Daily Driver for 2 years now. Try not to drive in the snow, If I have to, I call in sick for work
With 26,000 miles no problems, runs great, in the summer I drive my L or ride my 87' Honda Super Magna 700cc.

Mine was a daily driver until I got a job about 135 miles one way to work. I went and got a Jetta TDI for that and now my L sits in the garage waiting to be driven. It is neat though because when I do drive it it's like playing with a new toy each time. I drive it now about once a month.
Mine was a daily driver the first yr also
Unfortunatly the harsh winter snow sand and salt truly
took it's toll on it. The entire under carriage rusted out,
and the front lower ground effects looks sand blasted now close up.
I tried driving around with 500 lbs of concrete, 300-400 lbs of sand, and I still got stuck nine hundred times. (but as I've explained many times, you MUST climb a serious of small long inclines to get home, and no matter how much weight you have, it WILL NOT climb hills in the snow, AT LEAST MINE WON'T
After having to spend weeks just getting the motor to look 1/2 decent again last spring I said screw this and bought 3 clunkers before recently buying a used 03 luxury car to use for wet days.
I still drive the L all year, BUT ONLY IF IT'S DRY OUT unfortunatly with over 36" of assorted snow storms SO FAR this winter, I think I put more miles on the Mitsi-what ever in the last month or two, than I have on the L in the entire last year
But when I drive it, I DO DRIVE IT
You've all read about my new shifting style
Mart Man, where you live, you would have no prob's as a 24/7 DD
believe me it truly kills me to pay 550.00 a month and only have 13k after 2 years, but the way I figure it, the lower the miles,
the better resale, and the longer I have before having to put another 15K on the CC's for a new motor and or tranny

I drive my 99 L as a daily.. I would rather not though!! But it will do until I get my Cobra as a daily.. Then I will get to sink money into the truck and use it only for weekend driving and racing..
I don't drive the Lightning every day but I do drive it more than any other car. Not because I want to keep miles off the other cars. The L is just the most fun to drive
. Instant torque, sit up high, comfortable, automatic... perfect driver. Nothing better to make your ride to work more enjoyable.

When will we be expecting the new addition My Sister ?
This is better than having a Baby, if it acts all weird or something breaks, you just whip out the credit card and pay someone to modify it to JUST LIKE YOU WANT IT
of course You all know I kid about comparing it to a baby RIGHT ?
a baby could never out run a Hemi
