Do Gatorback belts make noise?

I installed my Gatorback belt last Friday, and since then I have noticed a high pitched "whistle". Today I raised the hood, started the engine, and have it narrowed down to the blower snout area. I thought maybe it was being caused by my JLP ramair, but it is coming from the blower snout.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I am not complaining, I kinda like it! Sounds cool...

Sammy

What pulleys are you using?? Mine has a high pitched whine at idle, kinda like a whistle but I believe its the combination of the tight belt, idlers, and 2.70 upper with a 8# lower....Its a great sound....

I am running a 4# lower, and only noticed this particular sound after installing the Gatorback.

Not a whine, more like a high-pitched whistle. I am 99% sure the sound is NOT coming from the blower iteself.

Is it just at idle or can you hear it throughout the RPM band?? Mine whistles/whines at idle but isnt so noticable while driving. I mean it is a definate blower whine while accelarating. But at idle or stop light sounds like a high pitched whine/whistle...

Is the belt the correct length??
Is the belt seated right on all the pulleys??

The belt it the correct belt and seated correctly. I only notice the whistle when gently accelerating, like through a parking lot. It is NOT blower whine. Almost sounds like a whistle being created by air flow, but I have pretty much ruled that out.

maybe its kinda like a cog belt setup, air gets trapped under the belt and makes a whistling type noise
