Two years ago I told my wife I wanted a Lightning. She said maybe later. A few days later I went to a local dealership and bought it for my birthday w/o telling her.

Tell her that you would be more than happy NOT to get a lightning if it upsets her...because, after all, "her being happy" is far more important than some silly vehicle purchase.
