I'm with the majority here. It's not about age, it's about what YOU like. I'm almost 48 and the only way you'll get my L's keys is out of my cold dead fingers. At 48, I'm still young, at 27, you haven't even begun to live. You'll understand this in about 20 years. Buy the L, and enjoy.

I feel your pain Dude. That back thing is a big issue but it sounds like money really isn't.
I am over 50 and have 5 licensed vehicles. My job allows me to bring home a powerstroke. Those cold morning starts are noisey and smokey.
Out of all my toys guess which one I still go to first if I have clean duds on. (LIGHTNING)
It drives the smoothest on these rotten roads that keep getting worse (road tax??) Handles like a Porsche, Pulls harder than the Powerstroke, looks coooool, easy to step in and out of. (like you said).
I am impatient by nature and when I see a chance to pass someone I want to do it NOW!!!! (that makes it safer)
Just get the Lightning and run it for a while. You don't have to race it or mod it to enjoy it.

Small world, didn't think I would ever run into anyone from this board just by chance. My truck's been great besides one rough startup followed by the SES light. I've also just come across some kind of whistle at about 2500 RPM and up, it sounds like it's coming from in the dash somewhere I think. I've only got a little over 2k KMs on her so it's a little early to tell if my luck will be better than yours.
Anyways, good luck in your decision. I hope you chose to give the DSG a try at least.

I am 59 years young,i just had a built motor,ported heads,long tubes ,high flow cats,4# lower pulley 2# upper,single blade throttle body,shift kit,2400 stall converter,electric fan,s/c being ported & coated ,drive shift loop,drag shocks,truck tracks,super chip,installed in my red lightning.I try to go to the drag strip every week for test & tune.
