Guys with Borla cat back in here please!!

Ummm do you guys have a *****ty sound when you go wide open throttle?

It sounds great under normal acceleration and a little harder it still sounds good...

but when you get on it full throttle or just less it sounds like uhhh well the best way I can describe it is like a loud fast blap blap blap blap. Almost like a huge exhaust leak Like a blattering. It really sounds like a$$. So do I have a leak or do these Borla cat backs sound like this at WOT?

Sounds a little like a wet towel flapping in the wind? Right? That goes away after you've put a long trip on it. I'm not sure what it is; but, it goes away after you get it hot and keep it that way for a while.

LOL ya the towel thing is a good way to put it. Its jsu that it would have to big one big a$$ wet towel LOL.

The only thing is this is a used system and was on the other guys L for 2000 miles. Does it take longer then 2000 miles to get rid of this crappy sound?

If he didn't ever take a trip where he maintained about 70 mph for an hour or so, it may still not be "broken in," so to speak. Mine made that sound for a while before I finally took it for a long drive to VA. When I got back the sound was just gone. My buddy, at work, who also has the Borla on his L, went out of town the first week he had his installed. He never noticed the flopping sound from his at all.

I dont like mine because it is too quite at itle and at 1/2 throttle. I am thinking of cutting open and removing a baffle. How do you think that would work? I really like the tips though

I too had that same problem....thought it was an exhaust leak for a while. After about 5000km(3500miles), the sound went away. I personally love the fact it is pretty quiet at idle, and at WOT it has a nice low growl.

Thanks for the info! Man I hope it goes away. Its soo bad sounding. But I too love the fact that it has a stock sounding idle, nice low growl at 1/2 throttle. But at WOT for now I have to say I really hope this sound goes away.
