Be like me, ignore any SRT-10 thread you see unless it's a thread complaining that there are to many threads about it

I have no hostility at all towards Gen2s. If that was the case, I couldn't stand any of the LOOM meets (where it's 12:1 of Gen2s vs. my solo Gen1). What I do have hostility towards is ignorance and hypocrisy. Many of the vocal members here do like to whine... a lot. There was whining when the '01+s were made with more HP. A lot of it when the HD F-150 with the L powertrain was announced.

I wouldn't even consider it hostility. I'm just plain laughing out loud at a lot of what I read. Competition is good, competition is what makes what we have now so great. However, that concept to some is like trying to convert republicans to democrats, or vice versa.

It's also very funny to constantly see the battle area change. First people said that it would actually be lower HP than advertised. It wasn't. Then it was that it'd still run slow e/ts because of the weight and transmission..then a 13.1 was run. Then it's that it wouldn't beat our 147MPH, and it did, by 7MPH.

So, maybe I'm in the wrong. Maybe a forum should be for people to complain about competition and urge everyone to buy just Lightnings, and I should accept that people will prejudiciously hate the SRT-10 because it's not a Lightning. Different strokes for different folks. Just because I'm not a Gen2 lover doesn't make me a Gen2 hater. I'd just prefer a boxier style appearance (ie, Gen1 or SRT-10), and would rather have a stick shift. And I'll save my money until one is made in my price range

Anyhow, the post was meant in jest G1s and G2s are brothers in arms.

Actually, for all I've read in the various posts, etc. is that about all an SRT-10 owner has is a go-fast vehicle, nothing more. I understand it has a carry capacity of Bubba the driver and a half sheet of plywood in the back, or you can actually tow a 12 foot aluminum boat (without a motor) if Bubba looses a bit of weight and throws the half sheet of plywood away. Anybody can have a go-fast vehicle with enough horses and money, it just that 'L' owers have a go-almost-as-fast as a wanna-be powered soap-box derby cart, for a lot less money, and they can actually use their vehicles for what mother nature intended .. carry something in the bed besides a half-sheet of plywood.

what everyone has to realise, is there are no Sal's and Johnny's, and Jim's in Dodgeland. those hemi's are only going to put out what the computer will let them. they are extremely difficult to tweak. I had to spend a couple of grand to get mine to accept large amounts of air and fuel and to raise the rev limiter to get some real power. the KB blower for the hemi has been advertised for over a year now, but due to "computer tuning problems",, no one has one. i've spent a lot of time and money under a dodge hood, and Ford guys really don't know how sweet a deal they have, when it comes to mods.

I think some just take things too seriously here! Opinions are like A-holes. Everyone's got one....And some are going to voice their opinion. Fine by me...Right, wrong or otherwise. This is still a great melting pot of enthusiasts that may disagree at times. We still have much in common and it IS a "US, against them!!"

Winner takes all....

Nothing wrong with stirring the pot and have a little SRT feast on this board at times. Many know it's a fast truck. So, some people were wrong and some were right about it! Who cares? It's run what ya brung on the street and track.

This board is entertainment! Takes all kinds of minds to make it what it is. I don't mind being wrong about a vehicle if people here get some enjoyment on kicking the SRT between the wheels....

I like to get on over there on the SRT board and give them a little chit. Might just bait them into getting to the track to prove some of us non believers that the 13.1 wasn't a flulke, just a ringer.

We have called them out to the track.

I may be wrong about this truck at times...I'm having fun with it and I didn't spend $45K....

And you're right, the boards are about entertainment. I enjoy coming here, have for years. Looking in as an "outsider", the vendor wars and various battles are very entertaining. I do like the Gen2s, but I don't think they're God's gift to earth. My opinion, which I know is just an opinion by myself, is that it's a great truck, goes fast, for not a lot of money. However, I still think it's uglly and needs a stick shift Come on guys, you dish it out, it goes both ways. Just because someone offers an opinion that differs from yours doesn't make them a hater.

We're all here because we love fast, specialty, limited edition vehicles. Now, let's argue over what's actually "fast"

Oh, yea, the SRT-10 thing is getting old but my feeling is the
SRT-10 posts you see presently are relevant basically because of speed record talks, etc.. The talk will settle down in time.

"Frigggggin NLOC" has a specific forum for non-Lightning specific topics just as this site does. Almost Anything Goes and General Discussion respectively. There were a polethra of SRT 10 threads in the Gen 2 forum for which I moderated. They were moved to appropriate forums and the Sticky created. Its not controlling what is said, just keeping IRRELEVANT drivel from clouding up a specific forum.

Whether or not the webmaster and/or the moderators on this site approve of and/or allow threads of this nature is totally up to them. Their site, their rules, I can live it. No Flame intended to Steve, Doug, Brooks, et. al.
