Rob, you have a similar setup to me, 4 lb lower with a 1-2 lb upper, when you get your blower back from apten do you plan to keep the 2 lb upper on or just leave the 4 lb lower on. I've been hearing the apten porting adds 1-3 lbs boost.j just curious what your going to do.

I think some people are going to be surprised with thw magnum powers blower.
To say it isn't comparable with the KB or Works is unsubstantiated opinion.

Everyone knows already, but SUAVY is pushing 26# of boost with his magnum powers and it was reported that it wasn't running out of steam. The final numbers haven't been released yet though.....

Before you pass judgment on the MP, wait for the numbers and times.

when I build the block, I'm upgrading the apten to the MP.
Can't justify spending the extra money on a blower that has had repeative "problems in the first week of use."

just wait until spring, there are some crazy projects this winter, centrifigul blowers, KB, MP, WORKS, Turbo's, Twin turbos, 32V heads with turbos, 32V with KB....

stay tuned, it's going to be fun.

also there are those srt-10s that someone will put a hennessey kit or turbo on.

 

When I wrote about the KB being ahead of the Magnum as far as power potential, that is exactly what the guys at JDM are telling people too. The Magnum Powers is a nice blower but will not hang with the Works 140 or KB as far as ultimate HP or airflow. Again, they will tell you this upfront if you give them a call. They have run an 11.10 so far so a 10 second run is only a couple of runs away. However the bigger blowers are in the low 10's.

I personally think the Mag is the best aftermarket S/C
bang for the buck (right now), and I would buy one in a sec if I was in the market for an aftermarket S/C. And THERE ARE 10 sec ET's with it already.

As for is it any better or worse than a KB/Works ???
It's a smaller displacement, so obviously it will put out a little less,
STILL PLENTY, IMO --> enough, and it would be my choice.

To answer your question wkuper11,
I plan on taken off the upper for Nitrous Runs,
stick with the 4lb lower + ported Eaton
and run 2/10th's better ET than ever before.
My goal is running an 11.6 1st time out w/only 4lbs

Let the guys at JDM know that; they told me two days ago there were no 10 second runs yet. I'm positive there will be. but if someone is there that is a good thing to know for a selling feature! I finally gave up on that blower after being told many times it will be here in a few days, a week, etc. since last September. I ordered a KB yesterday and will sell my Apten when it arrives.
