Unhappy 12 lbs boost total w/ 6# lower

I have done a few WOT since I installed my new gauges a few weeks ago. The most boost I get is 12 lbs total, so I'm like WTF. I have a 6# lower that I got from JLP a few months back. I understand there is a boost drop off when you have LT's/highflows, but is this normal? Just wanted to make sure, I thought I would be making about 14 lbs.

With a 6#'er you will get 13-14#'s of boost. With longtubs you will loose a pound of boost, so your within the norm.

Sounds right...

warmer weather will have lower boost #'s as well. The HEaton will also kill you, as it's less efficient when spinning faster.

The LT's definitely cut back on the boost you're making.

...although, now that I think about it, when I had the 6# on, I was still making like 15/16# of boost in decent weather.

Belt slip??

I don’t have long tubes, so do what you want with my info. When I just had a 4# lower and a chip I was seeing 13#'s, now in the cold and the 2.8 upper, I see 15#'s consistently.

Currently I'm running my stock lower pulley (too cold out). No need to be ripping through tires on no-traction concrete roads.

I could "feel" a slight drop in lower end torque, but it really opens up nice past 3k rpms. This was when I was still running the 6# lower with the new cats.

Took it to the track; before the cat removals was running .2 to .3 SLOWER in slightly warmer weather. I am confident it made a difference. I dont think 20 degrees ambient drop in temperature wouldn't make more than a .2 second difference. I'm thinking that the hi-flows dropped me a tenth.

I'm seeing 14 almost 15 before it shifts with a #4 lower only, and I have long tubes and high flow cats.

With my 6lb I saw 13-14...usually 14 and that was with a very high flowing exhaust....long tubes, high flow cats, duel magnaflows.

You may have belt slippage. IMHO you should be seeing at least 13-14

Rocks

I just thought of something else....what brand pulley....different pulley brands are different sizes...inchwise.

I have a JLP pulley with a Gatorback belt. You bring up a good point, I never thought about belt slippage would an aux idler help me?
