Just finished porting my blower
I wanted to chime in, that I received my Apten ported s/charger last week...the first in Vancouver. The boys over there did a great job, (I sent them my core). Workmanship was excellent. Only problem was the high shipping cost!!!
My problem not theirs!
Anyway, this thread has been great....sort of like watching reality t.v....can't wait to see who says what next

12leavu, Im all for the do it yourselfers. I refused to pay a vendor the $500 for a electric fan and fabbed mine up with the Waterpump for less than $200. Same goes for the boost bypass but the way it seems you guys have gone about this is downright wrong, Again thats my opinion. This is the same crap that UPR does with Mustang Parts. After things slow down on Sunday at the races, they go to other vendors, buy their parts and take them back to the shop and figure ways to make them and sell them themselves. If you look at UPRs Timing Adjuster, Its a ripoff of Steeda, There Suspension Parts are ripoffs of Wolfe Racecraft and there Kmembers are a rip off of D&D. In my opinion that is flat out wrong, Sure you can produce it cheaper than Apten but Apten has to recover the R&D that went into this product, thats why they are charging what they do. Now Ive read where you said you were a Machinest, Lets say that a company contracts your place of business to machine a certain part, Do you think that company would reward you there business if they knew you were gonna copy it and sell it cheaper ? Im sorry but what you are doing is wrong, For the Cheapa$$es that are contacting you to do this because the cant afford the Apten, Shame on you too. I wasnt able to get in on the Apten GP because money is tight right now, but even if you were 1/2 the cost I wouldnt consider it because of morals. Young people I can understand them feeding you business because when we are young we dont think of things like this, but the Elder members I must say my opinion has changed of you.
Ok Im done preaching and back to your regularly scheduled program.

Damn..Chastised for being cheap by a cheapass......What happened to Patent Pending....You can have an idea...an original idea....but if it ain't patent covered..neither are you. Let's see..if a machinist does work that is not patented...Who is violating Whom? The buyer of his service or his service...
Guess the service is equal and the work is equal...it's called competition and it is one of the basic Principles of Free Enterprise and our beloved Country. A service is performed for a fee....I undercut your Fee..to gather....what..Customers....
The public benefits....All automobiles have 4 wheels....who is borrowing design concepts from whom......so on and so forth...

Jeff, I understand your opinion and where you might be coming from, Its just my personal belief that its wrong. Designing the Same product is 1 thing IE KB Blower, Works Blower but ripping somebodies work to do the same in Wrong in my opinion.

I called Casey today on the phone and we talked about this. It is my own opinion after reviewing all of this that we (Apten) were in the wrong on posting in this thread and in how the transaction went with the customer. I took personal offense to some of the pictures and things being said in the beginning of this thread, but what I didn't realize was that the customer was upset and had a right to be. If I put myself in his shoes I may have reacted differently, but I would not be happy either. Regardless of excuses we could make, it took us too long to get him a ported core, and when we finally sent the core it was the wrong year. That is not acceptable, and by all means will not happen again, ever.
Several mistakes were made by Apten thru this whole experience, and the best we can do going forward is to learn from those mistakes and put processes in place to improve our core selection process and service. It is our business to make sure that every customer walks away satisfied, and my biggest regret is that it didn't happen this time.
