What would you do??

Ok, all jokes aside.... If you had a gen 1 that was pretty much stock, would you either leave it the way it is and get a gen 2 in the future.... OR would you dump all of your money into the gen 1 and forget about the gen 2? You can't have both.
Considering this is a gen 2 dominated board, I guess I already know what most of you are gonna say... But I just figured I'd ask anyway...
Oh, and please keep the stupid comments to yourself... I'm being serious (for once at least).

I've had 2 Gen I's and I really really like those trucks....But....they are old technology. The Gen II is just too easy to make fast, they are almost plug and play. Besides that they are sexy lookin.

If you get a Gen II, Rob and Gator could help you with the mods. Hell, Rob installs traction bars in a snow storm and he can intall a shift kit while he's parked next to the freeway or something

Get a gen 3 when it comes out....

you'll have a all 3 generations.....
(My plan, all the same color --> Black)

I say go for a Gen II. I'd like to have a gen I to play with; but, I wouldn't choose one over the current model. It's just too saweeeeet.

Hey LeeAnn. What I would do is keep the Gen1, the way it is, and get a 2nd gen. Only cuz your gonna be able to get way more power out of your money. The Gen 2 is just to easy a platform to play with, I'm having trouble staying focused on working up my mustang cuz its just so fun to have the L. I love the look of those Gen 1' and I would if I had the choice keep that as a daily driven commuter just for its sex appeal(to me at least). Thats just my opinion......and I know it aint worth to much, lol. Whatever you end up deciding to do, I'm more that happy to give you a hand in modding it whatever way I can too.

Thanks guys.

I really wanted to have a gen 1, gen 2, and gen 3 someday... All black of course, but unfortunately this is reality and that's not gonna happen (unless I find a nice guy ). As for reliability, I haven't had any major problems with my truck... and it only has 59k miles.
I guess I'll just keep it the way it is for now... Until I figure out what the hell I'm gonna do.
Anyways, sorry for the b!tching and moaning... I just wanted some opinions, that's all.

I'd say skip the Gen 2 and get a Gen 3 keeping your Gen 1 stock.

The Gen 2's are somewhat old tech now. Maybe not as much in the powertrain area, but suspension, interior, etc are all over a decade old. The Gen 3 (inheriting from the new F150) will have outboard shocks in the rear(big plus), a better front A-arm suspension, better brakes, stiffer frame and body structure, and a much newer interior, that IMHO, looks worlds better than the Gen 2 interiors. Plus it will have way more power.
