Post 3 day SRT RAM owner 1/4 mile time.

Well, for those that haven't heard. We have a confirmation over on srtforums.com

9seconds,
13.5 @ 104 with a 2.2 60 ft. on first pass. I made 3 more passes trying different things to improve my 60' and figure out shift points. I hit the rev limiter in 3rd at the line. It was only the third day driving the truck so I'm hoping to improve.

9seconds,
I race in Houston so that's pretty near sea level. Temp? It was cool. I should have had a jacket but didn't. I'd guess 50's. Bone stock with 530 miles on it.

If the temp is important I'm sure it can be found on the interweb. 1/9/2004, Baytown Texas, 8 pm.

Looks like PVO fell short with the price for peformance. Mid 13's for 45K+. It also sounds like from another thread there, many SRT RAMS are being allocated in Texas. Looks like the Texas L owners are going to get first crack at giving the SRT a beating.

I am by no means a Dodge fan, but give them the same amount of time to sort out their trucks (like we have on ours), add mods, etc. and they'll probably be whooping our asses. As an SVT salesman and more importantly enthusiast, I'm glad the SRT was built. Colletti has some great stuff for us in his bag of tricks, and without the competition, Ford may not have given the go ahead for more HP in our next gen L. Now there's lots of incentive for Ford to step up. Let's hope we see the good stuff on the Gen III's.

13.5 with a 2.2 60ft could easily be a 12 sec run with a 1.8 60ft.
Not bad for a new owner with major launching problems.

Could be some nice competition after all

Damn, I knew I should have gone to the track that night. They were open but I can't remember why I didn't go. I wanted to see what my new '04 was going to do stock. Now that I know there is one that goes out to Baytown I'll have to check it out. No racing in Houston this weekend, it's going to be a washout. They will be open on Sunday if the weather clears out. I'll try and get a video of this Mopar.

Good points Rob. I was thinking the same thing. The SRT is going to have a little longer learning curve with trying to figure out the stick. Anybody can drive an automatic and get it down the track decent, but a stick takes a little more work.

13.5 isn't too bad for bone stock, then again a few lightnings ran that bone stock.

change exhaust, add traction bars, maybe some type of intake systems.... 12's.

I guess the Srt-10 that Motor trend tested (13.1 I think) was slightly "massaged".
I'm really thinking of cancelling my subscription.

these dodge guys are c o c k y

Keep in mind those damn things weigh in excess of 5100lbs

I saw my first one on the street last Friday night (a silver one). I almost came out of my skin. I was standing outside of my truck, talking with some friends (who also own L's) at a local Starbucks when he drove by. We ran and jumped in our trucks, but by the time we got out on the road, we caught a red light and he disappeared.

We were all excited by the prospect of getting to hand one his *** (it was in the mid 40's), but it wasn't to be this night. I am beginning to feel that we will definitely get a fair share of chances though. I do have to say that the silver looked pretty damn sharp! The wheels on that thing are MASSIVE!!! As is the front end. All in all, not a bad looking truck!

Later,
Rob

Yea, I think 22's are to big, as 20's would have looked much better. I also think the 18's on the L's are to small. These trucks were made for 20's. To much wheel well to fill up to just put 18's on them.

13.5@104 is not bad. Thats about what I thought they would run. If they can hook as well as Lightnings do they will get low 13's high 12's out of the box. The problem is getting a manual tranny with no slicks in a truck to hook. Its not easy. I doubt they will get the 1.8 60 foot times the L's get on stock F1's.

Any word on what teh smallest rim will be to fit over the rear brakes? I would like to know if slicks are an option for these guys.

Last I heard none of these things are even coming to Canada so this is really a non-issue for me anyway.

Dayum.. I didn't think of the size of the rear brakes and whether they can run slicks...
That would be hilarious if no one makes a slick that big!
Way to engineer dodge boys.

I know Dodge boys aren't the sharpest knife but you got to read this:
srt-10 runs 10.8!

I just read the thread over there. It is beginning to look like the originator is about to get a big dose of WTF. They are picking apart his B.S., post by post....LOL.

300 shot...LMAO....heck, why not a 450 or even a 500...LOL.
