Homelink visor - has anyone.......

Has anyone taken a homelink visor apart? I know this is a longshot but thought I would ask. I thought I would post this in a couple of forums to see if anyone has done it. Thanks guys.

Reason I ask... I have a 02 XLT(no power to the visor). I have had a visor(been in my garage for over a year now) that I took out of my Lightning prior to selling that has Homelink/memo note feature. The Lightning visor is too long for my Screw along with the fact that again my Screw has no power to the sun visor. My GOAL is to take the homelink module(I don't even know it is a module or not) out of the visor and put it in the headliner or mount it on the side of the console or something.

I really hate to destroy this visor if it will not work because the visor is practically new and cost over $300 from Ford. I have never really tried to sell it but feel sure I could sell it for $125-175 if I tried. Any opinions are appreciated. Also anyone that would like to cut thier visor open and send me pictures would be great

I've been lurking and living vicariously through you guys since selling the L. Have contemplated building(getting a built engine) a engine for my Screw FX4 to get that straight line feeling I had w/ the L. All the L's are still looking good(those Jersery boys still got da' bling ) and rolling fast.

Damn, I miss my L!!!! Thanks for replying VINNIE.

Check out www.2ksi.com and do a search. Some of the S2000 owners have done that mod.

Wow, I'd love to be able to have one of those put in my '04 L that I'll be ordering next week, can anyone clarify if that is a dealer/factory option on Lightnings?

The Home Link visor is like the Key Pad Entry System. They were not offered as options on the "L", but the truck was wired for them and they are just a simple bolt-on. When I first got my truck, I was looking at the Home Link at my local Ford Dealer, but never did order one!
