Question Apten or REM ported blower

I am going to do one or the other. I do not know much about the REM ported blower and wanted to ask anyone who had one if they were happy with the results. It appears that most who have the Apten are happy with results. I am leaning towards the Apten as they have dyno results for 20-40 rwhp. If anyone has the Apten and has dynoed before and after and checked air fuel ratio please post and tell the results. I am trying to determine how much if any the ported blower has affected their air/fuel ratio's and rear wheel gain. I would to thank all in advance for any information!

The only results i have heard of from the REM porting are on a cobra, and when the blower was ported, a smaller pulley was put on as well.

I think REM did a Harley D truck...

I can't seem to find the link right now...
I'll keep looking.

(Interesting about the smaller diameter pulley thing though!!)

I'm going with Apten after the holidays are over.

I had the ported blower done and I DID NOT put on a smaller pulley. The pulley was put on prior to adding the ported blower.

I made 34rwhp/16ft tq with the ONLY change being the ported blower by REM. REM charges $295 for the porting. If you want to pay 250 more for the Apten be my guest. THe results will be the same...

I asked the same question:

I just haven't seen any concrete numbers to justify the REM deal. Plus they want you to pull the rotor packs before sending the blower. That concerns me because the clearance needs to be checked after porting...

Sorry Griffin, my mistake. I was udner the impression both went on at the same time. Those 34hp and 16 tq are SOLID gains. I'll have to talk to paul about doing my blower.

How do you like the polished lip on the pulley?

Hey Griffin that sounds good to me. Can you tell me what pulley combo you are running and if you were able to check air/fuel ratio? Also if you picked up any boost from the porting. Thanks!

I would love to see a REM ported blower.. I'm pretty sure what an Apten looks like and I know for FACT that the Apten version makes power... If someone wants to e-mail me a picture of a REM I'll tell you what the differences are between it an Apten.. hud@mc.net

I have heard that REM does NOT touch the rotor case. Is this true? They do all their porting on the upper (throttlebody spacer) intake...like port matching... Just curious to what you know Griffin... Thanks

IF thats true and they get the HP claimed. Then the Apten does it all in the rotor case to get there HP. Think if they combined knowledge

REM ports the actual supercharger itself.

They also offer ported upper plenums.

Tim, of Next Generation Motorsports, is also starting to port the Eaton blowers. As far as credentials, he is the best porter in the country. His work is flawless.

It's REM for $299 vs. Apten for $599....

Since everyone is worried about stealing each others ideas, and in the long run, profits, they only thing we have to judge both of these on is proven dynos of customers before and after the swap. And that means ONLY a blower swap to keep an apples to apples comparison.

With that said, I have seen several people with Aptens post their gains. Until the same thing happens with the REM customers, I know where my $$$ will be going
