Post SRT-10 News

Looks like there won't be many of the new Dodge SRT-10's around. According to today's edition of Automotive News:

"Dodge will build approximately 2,500 SRT-10 Rams annually. The V-10 powered truck goes on sale early next year at a sticker price around $46,000."

Of course, at $46K, demand would probably keep sales at this level anyway, so it makes sense to limit production in order to avoid having to offer huge discounts/rebates to move the trucks
off the lots.

SRT-10 = Turd!!!

I'm going nuts waiting to see them on the street. Maybe I'll win, maybe I'll lose, but at the end of the day, I'll be driving off in a sweet machine while the other guy drives off in a turd!

I heard there will only be 10 ever produced and Dodge is just producing the truck until they can get another version completed without the Viper engine and superchargered.

I'm more concerned about KB Hemis than the V-10. KB is working on one that puts out over 500 hp.....

This woulda been the smart thing to do from day one. They bit off far more than they could chew trying to use the viper motor, hence making it necessary to up the price putting the truck in its own class, not really competitive. Meanwhile, there sits the hemi, about 30-40 assorted parts away from being one mean street truck. Possibly not as competitive as the lightning who knows, but definately on the right track in terms of price and power.

Early next year!!!!!!!! I am beginning to wonder if that thing is ever going to arrive. A guy that works for me told me a few weeks ago that his brother was suppose to have one by the first week of December. His brother works at a Chrysler dealership.

The worlds fastest phantom truck....LMAO

My guess is that it won't arrive until close to the end of the first quarter. Did your employee mention how many trucks the dealership will be alloted?

according the motor trend the SRT-10 has the same 0-60 time and is .1 seconds faster than the the Lightning. Not impressive for 500hp:o
