Does JL use CP pistons? Or did you get yours built by someone else?

Yes we use CP's we have always used CP's and our engines have *proven* the Longevity,Reliabilty, and Power.. To this date we have Sold and installed well over 50 JLP Engines..We Currently have around 15 new customers on the books for the new JLP Engine JLP Cam Head Combo..We Not only mail order our Engines but we also Remove and Replace and *dyno* tune the customer truck with our new Revolution Software.. Our price is $3,900.. This includes the .020 CP's,03 block,h-beam rods, oil pump, bearings, main studs. Head studs,Blue printed/balanced,And Professionaly Built. Our Engines can handle well over 800-900 hp! They also come with the Head Gaskets. When we @ our shop assembel our Long blocks we our able to see boost levels as high as 25-30# of boost with no Head gasket issues.......JL

Johnny,

Are you having any issue with a .020 over bore and the 03 block?

I have heard that there may be an issue with the cylinder wall thickness in the 03 blocks. Have these short blocks either of you are offering been sonic bore tested?

Could you elaborate on that a little…?

How many engines are running the 03 block and what kind of punishment are they getting? How many miles to date are on one of the .020 03 blocks?

Since the "way to goes" and "raw-raws" are about to begin, I am just going to get to the point of my post!!!!!!!!!

Word has it that the 03 block cylinder walls are a bit thinner than the previous year blocks. Yes, the block itself is beefed up, but that was a very uneeded change.

The problem with "thinner" walls should be obvious. I asked the darned question hoping to find out if there is anything to this because I sure wouldn't want to have to replace a short block twice.

I don't know how ford could redesign a block.....add 23lb more material to it and end up with thinner cylinder wall. Does that make sense to anybody ???
