weird x-plan situation

I bought an '03 Mustang GT from Gwinnett Place Ford 13 MONTHs ago on x-plan, which I have since sold. I get a call from GPF yesterday, and they want me to come in and sign the x-plan form, claiming I didn't do that when I bought it. It's possible that's true, I don't remember.

I just find it very odd that it's taken this long to find out, and I'm leary of signing anything. I don't have any trust in GPF. I told them to mail it to me, and I'd send it back.

Could they could be doing something wrong that might get me in trouble? One thought I had was that they might be trying to submit a form to Ford and get x-plan money back on a vehicle that I didn't purcahase.

Signed,

The Cynic

That sounds kind fishy to me man. I'd look at exactly what they are mailing you and make my decision from there. If there is any blank information that could be altered, I probably wouldn't sign it. What's the worst that could happend if you don't sign the form. I don't think it would take a dealer, or even Ford 13 months to find out.

Just my 2 cents.

dealerships are very shady like that, I had a dealer change out forms and fill in incorrect info on two of the trucks I bought. The first time they f'ed me out of 500 bucks on my trade in. Then when I went to buy it out a few years later they faked a form on me that stated they already gave me my deposit back...I had to speak to the owner to get that dealt with... the fraud word usually gets their attention.... as does "channel 10 would like to hear about this Im sure"

If you don't, what are they going to do, take back the Mustang ?

The deal is done now. It's their problem, not yours.

Thanks for the support, I thought I might get ripped on this for being overly cautious.

One reason I feel like not signing is that it would almost make me feel good if it was legit, and it cost them some money. It was the worst car buying experience to date, and I'll probably never go back.

Don't even waste your time thinking about it.
The dealer had to provide a copy of your X-Plan sale to
Ford to prove he followed the guide lines, as soon as your
original sale was closed. If he is now telling you that he did
not get his $$ back from that original deal, then they must
be a real @sshole dealership.
13 months has passed and NOW they realize they made a
msitake? Go about your business and don't even think about
their problem.

there F- up not yours they should have noticed that before yo even drove off the lot.

IN a simalar note my dad bought a car and was trading in the one he had. The sales guy ask what he owed and my dad said its about XXXX.xx but I am not sure thats a ballpark. well after the fin. and all the other B.S. and paperwork my dad signs the needed papers and leaves with a new car. gets a call within the next few days the sales guy calls and says well we need you to come up here and pay us XXXX.xx. The sales guy and fin. guy (the real a$$raper's) both did not look up to make sure what the payoff on the trade in was. Well we told them I guess thats your ball you droped and my back hurts so I dont think we will be picking that up for you.

I bought x-plan recently. And the ford person I got it from HAD TO confirm the process within a certian amount of time.

I donno if this was the case 13 months ago in your situation? But I'd HIGHLY suspect they are up to no-good.

Run!
