I wish I could make it out to e-town. I heard very good things about that track. Who all is going to be there this weekend? If anyone is going for a new best et this weekend, I wish them good luck. Who all is going out there with a new set up? Good luck to everyone.

Me

I think some #s are going to be thrown down on Friday.

My predictions- Dons Bolt (10.87), HDMLINIUM (10.50s) and Rob02lightning (11.91)

Where is the prediction for me Vinnie>??? How about a prediction for yourself too. Jim has some high hopes for my truck on Friday. I hope his predictions are correct. I am shooting for Mid-High 11's. He is hoping for more then that. If his predictions are correct, I will be one happy man. Especially if it stays together! -Mat-

Ya Man, If we got to take my Body off the Frame and run
it that way, we're gonna come home with 11's.
OR WITH THE MOTOR IN PIECES

Shane,
V has quite the New set-up,
as good as anything out there right now. All the right parts,
all the correct add-on's, and some very impressive #'s
He just likes to play down everything.

HE'S SHOOTING FOR 10's BABY...............

STAY TUNED...............

I've got something up my sleeve (and it ain't nitrous). If it doesn't blow up first, I may run an 11. Of course 11's these days are like 12's last year...it's like who cares .

BTW

Went to Merkel Racing Engines today to get the juice filled,
they did a great job on the fill.

Since the bottle was a little warm from being in the car,
the dude put 2lbs in, cooled it up, then empty'd it,
and re-filled it ......

A few things I didn't get to, like cleaning the filter and
making a new air intake scoop for the front, but I'll make due.

The poor old fat bastard from NY is gonna show you
how us poor people run 11's with minimum mods,
AND no tranny, suspension, exhuast, or cooling mods....

Well sub Zero Juice may count as somewhat of a Cooling Mod

A little Foot Note:
I spent much time talking to the Merkel Racing Engine Staff,
and although they have been around forever building
Race Motors, (thats all they do, machine work + build)
They admitted that our 5.4 Mod Motor is in a class of it's own,
and DOES IN FACT take a skilled Mod Motor Builder to do it right.
I appreciated their honesty, but was a little disappointed that
they have no desire to build a lower end for me, if I ever need one. You'd think after decades of building professional racing motors they'd be able to help out on a Mod Motor, but not the case.

BTW
You can get the Dyno for a complete full day for under $600.00
We may have to do that someday if enough are interested....

I CARE yysenhimer

11's in a daily driver without ever opening the motor
is quite impressive in a 5k truck

It's been my original goal since day one to run 11's,
with minimum Mods, having run backed up 12.0's
I already feel I hit my goal, I have no desire to cage it,
no desire to replace a Motor, tranny, or S/C.
After all I still owe 4yrs and over 20k on it.....

Lots put 15K plus into built Motors + KB's, but the sad truth is they won't bring any better resale when the time comes so I
choose not go that route.
Of course if it goes boom I have no choice.
But I think I'd go the Insurance route before the lost investment.

GOOD LUCK ON THE 11'S BRO

and remember, I CARE............

Thanks for all the replies. I really would like to make it, but Chicago is just to far from E-town... I actually thought about it. I went to mapquest and punched it in. 13 hours I think. I could leave Thursday afternoon and get there Thursday night/Friday morning. Catch a few z's and then wake up to the best alarm clock in the country. I'd have to take off work thursday afternoon and all of friday. Then I'm not sure if I'd be up for coming all the way back home friday night... 24 hours worth of driving for less than 12 hours of racing isnt logical. I'd love to be there, just can't this year. Maybe next year if I plan it better, I can take off work and get a hotel down there and stay the weekend. Good luck guys. Shane

Gator are you going for a new best et? I know you went 11.90 with out nitrous. I think that's awesome! Are you going for anything faster than that this weekend?

I feel the same way...I mean, I don't have the 15K to put into it, but the main thing is I don't want to cage it. The same thing happened when I had my mustang back in the day. I got to the point where I had to make a decision to make it a full out race car, or keep it as a daily driver and settle for less speed. I chose the daily driver, at least until I had to rent cars and eventually bought a second.

Run what you brung. Race and break on Sunday, rent a car on monday...

I care too man! As long as my truck makes a full pass I will be joining you in the 11's if ya make it. I will be damn proud too. I never would have thought this day would be coming. My big black pickup truck having over 500RWHP and getting ready to run some 11's. Hell I was excited when I was at Ford's at Englishtown 2yrs ago with a 300 mile truck clicking off 13.1's with a chip and airfilter.

So who is bringing the 11 second club stickers>?!?!?!?!?!?
