The AR93 is definately colder. I think its heat range is a 9. The Beru S1Ks are basically like a TR6 , but more durable, its heat ranges are listed as 4,5 and 6. The S2Ks have a heat range of 6,7 and 8.
As far as what Dan says about the Beru's and his seat of the pants dyno, Id take that as a definate improvement. So much so that I will be tryng a set of S1Ks this weekend.

Promod,

I would like to know what you think of the Beru's. I am always up for a better plug. I don't like the NGKs or the Autolites and the Densos have always performed for me. Post on what you think of them. Plus anything is good if they perform just as good if not better and cost less.

D-Day

Sounds great Dan
Your like that dam bunny,
you just keep going
and going
and going..............
WAY TO GO BRO

FYI
TR-6's are 1 zone colder than stock
TR-5's are equal to stock
BR-7's (or is it BRE-7's) are 2 zones colder

I run two zones colder with Denso IT-22's and find myself a
walking commercial for them, Love them, love them, love them

So what would a comparison Chart look like ???
Beru------- to------NGK---- Denso
----------------------------------------
Beru------#*** = TR-5, or IT-20
Beru------#*** = TR-6, or IT-21
Beru------#*** = BR-7, or IT-22

Great input, thanks guys!

Pete, can't wait to hear from you once you make the switch. I have ordered a second set to have on hand, just in case.

I just got off the phone with Jeff at Nology. He recomended the S1Ks and told me to gapp at .035 with my 21# combo. So I ordered 2 sets. Jeff also told me to check them after a few weeks and if for some reason I dont like them, to just send them back to him. Cool. But, judging by what D-Day has felt and our similar KB combos, I anticipate them working awesome. Ill put em on saturday and hopefully redyno with the plugs, my my "hog wild" upper plenum and an 80% mix of alcohol and race gas soon. My IT-24s work good, but I think there is more improvement to be reached. And Dan, we will be going to Bimini for some awesome fishing real soon.

Talking

even though others have had horrible experiences with Sh*tfires, i've yet to try a plug that feels better in my "L"'s, and i've been thru the entire "plug-o-da-month" fad we come up with around here. i change/check my plugs often, because of the cost of spark plug/new motor ratio, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone who wants to leave them in there for a long time, but if i was entering a money race, i'd be running da sh*ts

Don't mean to start anything but, I used the S2K plugs when I first got my lightning. Went to the track one night and # 6,7 cracked. Also use to run them in my vette. After what happened, I went with Denso's on both. I'm not saying they are a bad plug, they just did not work for me.

Cool

MRBBQMAN,

I agree with you 100%. There is no better plug for stock to 2# pulley but they are not for people who want to throw a plug in and forget about it.

You need a fat tune to get the most out of them.

They give you more throttle response on the street and MPH in the quarter than any plug out there.

I don't recommend them because I don't want to hear some yahoo whining because they fried one when they were already having detonation problems. Let them fry another brand of plug because when they fry a Splitfire it's always the plugs fault. When they fry a Denso and take out a valve with the porcelain it's never the plugs fault.

We'll keep this our little secret.

MRBBQMAN - Sorry to hear you haven't found a difference with all the plugs you've tried. I have tried three and I was frustrated, can't imagine trying all of the flavors. How often do you change your plugs?

415cid goose - Like the beginning of the post says - everyone has their opinion and preference, and I have heard a lot of stories that point to blown, cracked - faulty plugs. 415 cu your Vette sounds sweet man!

LTNBOLT - That fat thing is on the mark, as I am running with 16lbs, KB - fat is my middle name for my tune - must be part of the reason the Beru's are hot.

D-Day

Dan, back in the ol' days of the 99's , we found Ford installed different plugs in some of the 99's. some were plats, some were plain, some were wrong. so we started playing around with whatever was recommended for supercharged engines, which was usually (old school) not platinums, with a strong ground, that wouldn't fly off with some xtra aftermarket boost. since most of us had to check to see what we got, and also found out there was only 4 threads holding the mystery plugs in, most of us took a big interest in changing and checking plugs. i've done about 30 sets in my 99 and 03, because of nitrous and general interest in reading the plugs. each brand has it's differences, and there has been some huge debates here. Chuck "LTNBOLT" has a webpage(s) dedicated to plugs and proper installation

Glad to hear about your success, so I haven't lost my mind - differences are noticable with a plug change.

Allow me to offer an alternative solution -- every human being is suseptible to the placebo effect.
