First time in cooler weather with the L!!!

Finally I can see the full potential of the 3#er it has been 72-76deg here at night for about a week with low humidity and I can not believe the power this beast has don't even think about flooring it on a roll because 3/4 throttle makes the tail wag. I love this truck more and more every day got to try to stop driving it too much though it's a 01 and I got 20,500miles on it know.
The F1's can't handle it all I can't wait to go to Renolds SOON and meet up with some other L's and get me some 12 sec. runs.
My mods are:
JLP 3#er (thanks 78flhundo)
FTVB
160deg thermostat
Modded air box with K&N
Magnaflow twin exhaust with x-pipe
Royal Purple 5w20
Purple Ice in Rad and Intercooler

I used to see almost a full half second in the cool weather. When racing in the cool weather I used to mix a little race gas since it's hard to keep an ear out for pinging with the helmet on.

Thats good to hear. I love this truck. I just can't get used to the looks I get all the time and God forbid you get next to something sporty at a stop light seems everyone wants to see the Lightning in action.

.. I agree...Seems like every since I've put my cobra hood on along with the 01 headlights and speed grille, people seem to dart out of my way in the fast lane....That hood really makes the truck look intimidating and i guess people find it menacing..:rocker.. The more things I do to my L w/out going overboard, the more I love it...

georgia SVT there is a 300 Z meet this Sunday at Reynolds, I plan on going to hurt some feelings if it stays cool like this. The weather in GA is really out of the ordinary, cool and low humidity!

Ok
You southern boys better be carefull

I am sure your tunes are safe for the weather you are having now, but if gets much cooler make sure you talk to your tuners.

I don't want you to end up like a lot of us northern boys who blew their motors last year when it got cold.

hey Don thanks, I have been lurking around the board for sometime, just not to many posts until latley but I remeber last winter when it got cold seems alot of motors up north went kaboom! I plan on getting a 4lb lower and a new reburn before it gets much cooler anyway, but it is liable to be 95 degrees next week with some unbelievable humidity. We are just enjoying an unusually cool August.

I plan on sending mine off for a reflash sometime. I'm going to listen for denonation. I need to get it on the dyno to see what everything looks like A/F ,HP, TQ. I'm not to afraid of the cold here it really does not get too cool here in South Ga. Maybe what a week of 30deg weather. therealgeronimo let me know how you do we will get together real soon at Renolds.Rumor has it we will have a new 1/4 track in Adel by Nov 1st which is 15min from me.

TR6's all year, but my truck sleeps once the first snow falls. I do take it out every few weeks and run it very mellow. I do this just to keep things lubed up. Come march it goes back on the road, so say middle of December till March it sleeps.
