Magnum Powers Blower

If we can't get pictures then how about some questions?

The Magnum Powers blower as shown in Suavy's picture appears to be, and I assume is, a stock top entry Eaton 112. It is then ported by Magnum Powers (the opening in the bottom of the blower has a different shape) to change the powerband of the blower. This could be good or for bad. Frankly I'd think Eaton a multi zillion dollar company would do it correctly.

It has the same rotor packs, the same snout, and the same double roller bearings, and the same top entry design as the stock Eaton 112. The stock eaton 112 has double roller bearings.

Justin is the above correct information? If not could you post more information. Are there any differences other than the porting?

The reason I don't call you for this information is because the information is valuable for everyone. Isn't that what a forum is for.

Callightning, That's what I thought when I bought MCI for the Dividend.

What little I know...I don't Think Eaton owns a Lightning. Charles Warner does.

I don't think Ford would buy a Eaton without the noise suppression technology but I would.

I think there would be some sort of legalities if MP redesigned the case, snout and thus using Eaton Rotor Packs. Eaton wouldnt allow them to just compete with them. So, a ported case makes more sense and im sure its an Eaton snout of some sort, possibly a modified unit off of an M90?

I still dont think this blower can safely make boost past 20 psi without risking injury to someone or the vehicle. Thats way the hell out of spec.

Jim, I would hope between Ford, Rouch, and Eaton they had a few Lightnings on it hands. Sorry about the MCI thing. Ive had a few of those myself. Ill trade you my Atari for your MCI. How about some egghead software? @home?

Perhaps the powerband can be improved on, or as you suggest more power had without worrying about noise suppression. Id just like to know specifically what improvemnets have been made.

This is obviously a different approach to the 112 as opposed to the Works 112 which gets it's advantage by moving from a top inlet to a rear inlet.

Steve,

I saw two of the Magnum Powers blowers. One on Paul Gamino's truck back in January when his truck was at JDM's and the other (perhaps same blower) on a '02 Harley truck at FFW Cordova this past weekend. I can tell you this much about it, those blowers have a different case and snout compared to a stock Eaton but as far as the internals go ...

Only if these posts were made last week I would have made a mental note to take plenty of pictures.

Magnum runs ad's in the back of MM&FF magazine and they have a picture of a Lightning blower in those ad's. They even have a blower for the T-Bird with a different case so I don't see why they couldn't do the same for a Lightning ...T-Bird Blower

Calightnin,

Here are the pictures as requested. I have no problem sharing them with everyone but when someone who starts a thread is a known JDM hater I don't even want to bother. But anyway, your information about the stock Eaton having the double roller bearings is wrong. If you look at the bearings closest to the supercharger pulley on the stock Eaton you will see what I am talking about. Our blower has a double roller bearings so you can add more belt tension without hurting anything. As far as the case goes it is not a stock case that is just ported. It is a whole new case design. The impellers are moved up 3/4 of an inch to get them out of the way of the airstream comeing in from the top inlet. The noise supression holes are also gone. The back of the supercharger has been redesigned so a larger volume of air is coming in to the blower.

The production of the blower has already started and we are looking to have 50 of them in 6 weeks.

Hope this helps,

Justin@JDM

Pretty cool, I would still like to know the gains on a stock engine though.

Known JDM hater?

Your boss has always said who he thinks I am, but as usual, he is wrong, and if you check all of my posts you wont find any hating words against JDM, but what you will find is me correcting wrong information given by JDM and their employees and taking JDM to task on their ethics and incredible ability to stretch the truth.

Thanks for the pics anyway.

Justin I think that remark was seriously unprofessional, Grey03 you have your pictures, so instead of bashing can we cover the questions that have YET to be answered by the JDM crew?
