The police office = King
You = Peasant
You can try and ration it to the best of your ability but it still comes back to the officer is king and you are the peasant. Is that fair? That could be debatable, but life is not fair and everyone needs police officers in their towns.
You have two options. First try to get along with this police officer by respecting him, yes sir, no sir and anything you say sir. That will go along way to making it a win-win situation. Once you show him some respect he just may show you respect in return.
Second, continue as you have with this office and you will lose, the peasant always loses to the king…
One thing you should do as soon as possible is to check with your local and state laws in regards to fog lights. If it is illegal (to have your fog lights on any time other then when there is actually fog) in your town, city or state then you’re screwed. Does not matter if they came stock or not, your town, city or state laws trump what ever may have came standard on your truck.
Your truck also came standard to do ¼ miles in what 13 seconds or so but you still have speed laws, so never go in to a court room and try to tell a judge you can use them (fog lights) the way you wish because they are from the factory as standard equipment because if your young the judge will laugh his/her *** off…

Fog lights have a certain light pattern NO matter the color. They throw light low and wide but not very far. The idea is that in fog thye light up the road directly in front of you so you can stay on it. The BIG advantage is they light up the lines on the road so you can stay between them.
Driving lights are completely different. They throw a narrow long pattern to help you see down the road....
We have fog lights...

Why not just save yourself the hassle and turn them off ?
Why exactly did you need them on anyway ?
Have you ever driven if fog so thick that you have to use the white line on the side of the road? It's refered to as the "fog line"
Thats what those driving lights are for, notice how they light up the side of the road when you turn them on?

Are the taillights legal? Second day i had the L i got pulled over for the taillights and no front plate(still had dealer tags, go figure). In the end he let me off when i said i just bought it and it comes that way from the factory.

How much are you willing to take?
Or, more to the point, are you willing to do something about it?

[SS] Ok, ARE they in fact illegal ? And is there in fact a supporting charge? Find out by talking to a traffic attorney, then, go to the state police and ask to talk to the Patrol Sgt. Traffic commander - whatever - so you can understand exactly what is and is not a violation. If there's no violation, swear out a complaint then and there.
Let me tell you this guy has always been a ***** to myself and anyone else that is young. He has pulled over plenty of my friends and towed their vehicles away for things such as no front plate, expired insurance card(it was expired by 2 days) just plain old stupid crap.
[SS] citations for stupid crap are the fault of the driver. Don't give them a reason to be a *****, and they'll become less a part of your life.
...This guy has told one of my friends he is "gonna get me one day" because I drive on a dealer plate.
[SS] That's a veiled threat, and you should get your friend to go with you to the State police, magistrate, or district attorney as appropriate, and if possible swear out a warrant on him. There's different procedures in different states, but it will definitely get his attention quick. The rub is, if you're making ***** up, it's going to come out and you'll get in trouble. OTOH, if you're not making ***** up, it's his job. Just like fighting a traffic ticket, you have to go prepared, or don't go. Further, if evidence is shown in your favor that he's used his authority to harass you, it's more than his job, it's his freedom. It's very rare that a cop does this because once the line of legitimate law enforcement is crossed, they not only lose legal protection against prosecution, but civil liability. They all know this, and 98% of the time are very careful not to go overboard. Evaluate your situation realistically, and decide if you need to either address your own behavior, or, the officers, or both.
FWIW:
I got cut off by a local animal control officer once, they shouted something rude at me, and went on their way. As they were the lane changer, and I was within the law, I filed a complaint with the local police, who lodged a complaint against the officer. That's when I learned what the process was for swearing out a warrant. Which likely isn't the same it CT... Didn't have another problem again, and the expression was allegedly priceless when the officer was told - You _DO_ know this person is licensed to carry a gun, right ? _oopsey_... I was satisfied with the stern talking to the offender got.

Wilton, CT Wappingers Falls NY and such you are really asking for trouble making a complaint on an officer. Best bet when you live in places like this is ignore the little stuff like being cut off. Indeed make a complaint if it is a major issure like a police officer say pulling a gun on you for no reason, etc.. I would say "pick your battles" Only do battle and leave yourself open to repercussions when it is over something big.... Pick your battles"
Also, you will be heard by the local authorities when you do report a problem IF you are not one to whine / sweat the little stuff. Hmmmm, ya never cut somebody off and throw them the bird when they gave you a dirty look??? Ever heard of road rage....... everyone even cops can get a mild road rage. Oh, I'll ignore the gun comment you made. Reaks of someone that just got their gun permit and thinks they are cool. I've had my pistol permit/concealed weapons permit for 35 years + and last thing I want is for all to know I have it.. Again, in a small community all spreads. Some things you want to keep to yourself...
It seems some people on here believe that a policemans word is the gospel and we should accept whatever they say when we are pulled over. I am not saying the situation can't be handled with some maturity but not all officers know all the laws like the back of their hand. I was recently pulled over for speeding and I knew for a fact I wasn't. The officer was rude and I tried to keep my composure and asked to see the radar gun. Needless to say I was told to have a good day and nothing came of it. As for disagreements in life, I have been in the military for over 12 years now and have learned that you have to pick and choose your battles. Being respectful will get you a long way, but just because someone of more power(or in my case, rank) says this is how it is, isn't always the case. And if you do always take what is said and don't stand up for yourself, you will soon find yourself always being walked on. Like I said, it has to be done in a respectful manner, no matter who you are talking to, and I do respect the police, but just because he says something is illlegal doesn't mean it is. Maybe with a good attitude , if you had your doubts, you could find out together and you would be more knowledgeable. Sorry for the rant, but it just sounded like people were picking on this guy for the way he acted(which might be justified) and telling him to keep his mouth shut ANYTIME someone of power told him to do something and I didn't think that was completely right.

Indeed, talking respectfully and asking questions of an officer stopping you is within reason. This has gotten me out of many a ticket. BUT.. if you get a ticket keep thee mouth shut and have your day in court. As for your comments about not letting people walk on you.... WELL I AGREE ...BUT when it comes to police you have to / must back down, back off or whatever you call it or chance going to jail right then and there or even getting your assed whooped by that officer and his cohorts in the process. Again, I don't put on with **** normally in my day to day life but on traffic stops I eat **** as at the time of the traffic stop you are very vulnerable. --Ask Rodney King... SO, pick your battles, have your day in court BUT when it comes to police and your interaction with them tread lightly.. Hmmmm, I knew this even when I was a punk *** kid...

It really would be great if we all knew the actual age of the person writing a post here. For sure age and more importantly experience (which often goes hand and hand with age) plays an important part in ones replies here and the way they drive down the road of life. GOD, I'm sounding old... hmmmm, **** I am old..
