Talking Pics, pics, pics and more pics...CWW, CWW, CWW

I finally got pictures posted from a digital camera worthy of the "L".

What do you think???

Took them after work today, spent all weekend waxing, cleaning, painting calipers, cleaning inside of wheels and everything else you could imagine. She doesn't look like a 30K mile truck does she?

I too was in the same situation a few months ago. I used a spray can of caliper paint called plasticoat. It was only a few bucks and was available at my local AutoZone/Advanced Auto Parts. The key was in the preperation, I tried this a few months ago and they turned out terrrible. After a few weeks, the paint had chipped or worn away. I first sprayed simple green on the calipers and them scrubbed them with a brass bristle brush. I did this a couple of times spraying and letting them soak each time. I then sprayed some brake cleaner on them and wiped them down with some old rags. Let dry, then covered the pistons and and exposed pads with torn-up newspaper. Spray the plasitcoat on with small short sprays and let them sit for 5 minutes in between coats. Do this 4-6 times and they will look great!! Let them sit before driving about 1 to 2 hrs. This is important!!! After which, they will look great!!! If you have any other questions just email me. The first time I did not prep enough, you must make sure all dirt is off and they are dry before you spray on the paint.
This is the most important step!!!

Jim

Good Luck!!!

Looking good!

Have you ever tried S100 Wax? Some of the top detailers on Autopia swear buy it and rate it ahead of CWW. I used it on my Mustang and it came out fantastic. They also make an S100 SEC(shine enhancement cleaner) that is a polish and cleaner that really gives the paint some kick. It can be purchased at a Harley Davidson shop and is the same as P21S but about half the cost.

Never used S100 but if it's as easy to use as CWW I'd give it a try sometime. I can't believe how easy CWW was to remove and no dust!!! I have used many different waxes and this one was hands down the best shine and the easiest to use. Cheap too, I only used about 1/3 of a ketchup bottle to do the whole truck. Still have 2/3 a bottle and about 7/8 of a gallon left. I got the miracle mist, also a great product. Worked great with the clay bar and also on everything on the truck, especially on the wheels, doorjambs, dash and inside the bed. I'm going to have to order some more mist soon!!!

BTW, Rick at coats was a nice guy, gave me some tips on application and packaged a thank you note in my box. That extra effort hooked my future business. Not to mentioned, such quality product.

Jim
