Thumbs down Got pulled over

Today on way to work.

Z28 in left turn lane and I'm behind him. I am right behind him and we stay in the same lane after turn and he takes off but I do nothing cause I know cops are always on this road.

So about 100 yds. in front I see a car but no cop but something hiding in the bushes and it happens to be the cop who jumps out and points his finger at the Z28 and I'm right behind him.I'm literally 20 yards form my parking garage. He says something to the guy through the T-tops and then the guy flashs a badge and goes on his way. Then the finger gets pointed at me. I say "what about the Z28?" He says " I had you at 54/35 in the left lane." I didn't want to argue much so I handed over the license and registration.

-While he's in the car I think of a story. I had applied to this police dept about a yr. ago but was denied in stage 4 of 5. When he got back with the ticket I said "Can I say something?"

He says go ahead. "Well, I applied to your police dept. and I think this ticket could hurt my chances." He says "How far along the process are you?" I said" I am waiting on my polygraph results." He says" how long ago was that?" I say 3 weeks. Actually more like 9 months. HE says wait right here. So here I am sitting again thinking man I will get off.

-Well he goes to call HR to see an update on my status and now I'm thinking...***** I'm screwed. he will catch me lying to him and then throw the book at me. I'm waiting 20 minutes in my car while he's on the phone and I'm *****ting bricks.

He steps out of the cruiser with ticket in hand but no clipboard so I'm think "Man...nothing to sign." So he comes up and says I have to take your word for it cause no ones picking up and as he's handing me the ticket(with just a WARNING) the phone rings and it's HR dept. *****TTTT!

He asks "how long ago did you have the polygraph?" And I caved and said " Man I never made it through the process." And he goes" Ohhh so you lied to me?"

I'm screwed and then he goes..."Well I'm not wasting my time writing up another ticket so you better hope I never pull you over again.

Lucky as ***** I got yesterday.

BTW I still don't thinkI was speeding. Just thought I'd share with you guys.

For a job that pays hardly ****, the crap you take from the public and the fowl things you see day to day, i think professional courtesy of getting out of a ticket has been earned

Dont be a hater.

...I have an uncle that was chief of the broward county dept.. and my father was a cop in orlando for 3 years.... I can, and will HATE them as much as I want. Cops need to stick to real crimes. I wouldnt care so much if they actually cought the ricers that fly past me at 100 mph instead of pulling me over every time I go 10 over ...ya know...because Im a "criminal"

being an officer of the law would be a great job for the pay if and only if you got to drive a Lightning cruiser..

there was a Viper cruiser in either Miami or Ft.Laud back in the early 90's...guess it was a repo or a confiscated vehicle.

There is a new really sneaky type of unmarked po po mobile around my work these days. Its a dodge dakota, no markings, totally stock looking...but has the hidden strobes, and the bed cover opens up 15% to reveal a hidden light bar.... now THAT IS SOME BS

Serious question.

Just out of curiousity, how many times have you ever gone 10 over?

I do agree... the hypocracy of traffic enforcement pisses me off, not the cops

The very idea that hiding around a bend pointing a radar gun at cars flying by has anything whatsoever to do with safety was always asinine to me. IF you really want to make the roads safer, put cops in unmarked cars and have them roving with traffic looking for tailgaters and people weaving in and out or driving eratically instead of coming after me for doing 72 in a 55 in light traffic.

If you read what I typed again youll see that he WAS the chief...he retired about 2-3 years ago.

Im usually 5-10 over the limit unless traffic doesnt allow for it. Thats my point though, I dont even go 5 over the limit if it isnt safe. (depending on traffic density) My problem is I get pulled over for it when Im not posing a threat to anyone, just technically breaking their "rule" ... and while Im pulled over people are flying by at 15 over since they know the cop is occupied writing my ticket. Its just irritating..especially when the cop usually makes a comment like the last one did...

"I know these trucks are fast, it can easily get the best of you."

uhhhh.. so its because I have a fast truck that I went a wopping 10 mph over huh? Ya know..because a civic cant exceed 55mph
